Demonstrations at roughly 2,000 sites planned for Saturday, same day as US president’s military parade and birthday

Millions of people are expected to protest against the Trump administration on Saturday at roughly 2,000 sites nationwide in a demonstration dubbed “No Kings”, planned for the same day as the president’s military parade and birthday.

Interest in the events has risen since Trump sent national guard and US Marine Corps troops to Los Angeles to tamp down mostly peaceful protests against ramped-up deportations.

“We’ve seen hundreds of new events on the No Kings Day map since the weekend,” said Ezra Levin, co-founder of Indivisible, one of the groups behind the “day of defiance”. “We’ve seen hundreds of thousands of people register for those events.”

This Black Walnut is quite old. I didn't have a measuring tape with me but I would guess nearly 150 years. It has marks from a barbed wire fence that was here when this woods was a pasture decades ago.

Mozilla Petition> Meta: Help Users Stop Accidentally Sharing Private AI Conversations

Meta recently launched its own AI app, like ChatGPT. The Meta AI app comes with a “Discover Feed” — a public stream of real user AI conversations posted by users. Meta says that users know that they're sharing their AI conversations publicly. But a number of posts suggest otherwise. You can find posts that appear to show users' personal data, medical issues, work problems, and calendar reminders in the Discover Feed.

European Union companies will be required to disclose details of their Russian gas deals to the EU, under upcoming European Commission proposals to ban Russian gas imports by the end of 2027, an internal Commission document showed.

The Commission is preparing to propose legal measures to completely halt the EU's Russian gas imports by the end of 2027, and ban new Russian gas deals by the end of this year. The proposals are due to be published on June 17.

[...]

An internal European Commission analysis of its upcoming proposals, [...] said to enforce the ban, the Commission will require information including the duration, annual contracted volumes, destination clause and date of conclusion of their Russian gas contracts.

[...]

Gas importers will also be required to disclose the origin of their imports, to ensure it is not Russian, the document said. The disclosures aim to ensure the EU and countries' customs and energy authorities can ensure the ban is enforced.

[...]

The deadline to stop providing these services under long-term contracts with Russia will be December 31, 2027, it said.

I personally think 3 is peak, and I'm probably not alone in that.

It seems like it aligns the most with what the 'core' idea of Devil May Cry should be. There aren't really gimmicks. There isn't bad design. It's simple, but done well.

The rest of the games in the series? They all leave a lot to be desired.

I'd say the first one comes the closest to reaching DMC3's heights.

Devil May Cry 2 is well, you know.

4 starts off phenomenally, but then it turns out to only be half a game. I will never forgive them for that backtracking bullshit. It should always be a stain on everyone's criticism of the game.

I've only played a little bit of 5, but I wasn't too impressed. It's certainly not bad, but I don't think it comes close to reaching the level of DMC3. Switching characters honestly isn't that great, because odds are I will prefer to play as a certain character which makes playing as others a chore.

So... what's left? Looking at it in retrospect under a critical lens makes me think that most games in the series just aren't that great. They're certainly not bad, but not something I can replay expecting them to be consistent with the best in the series.

Compared to something like God of War, where some may argue all of the games are spectacular, Devil May Cry falls woefully short.

Not the most tech savvy person so please bear with me.

What exactly is it? What's the difference between it and something like FALD? Are they the same and it's just different marketing or are they actually different? How is there different versions of it like an IPS or a VA? How does that work? How does it compare to something like OLED or QLED?

Usually I keep to myself on these things but curiosity is getting me this time around, probably gonna regret posting this considering how toxic the internet and people in general are, oh well, just wanna see if I'm the only one dealing with this or not, literally not asking for anything else.

Basically I'm at a very bad place in my life, built my first small PC ever recently after saving up for a few long years, and of course as I'm a complete noobie and have pretty unsteady hands I bumbled my way through it, made some scratches on the case here and there that I'm very upset about considering how much I paid for this thing, it could've been worse and it's thankfully nothing crazy, the noticeable scratches are all around the screws and the like usually hidden by the panels or behind the main components, but I still get genuinely upset looking at the small scratches when I mess around with the case and realising that was completely avoidable if I just had been more careful or patient or saved up for better easier to manage tools, even looking at other noobie builds it seems I'm the only one that bumbled badly enough to leave noticeable scars around the screws and other spots, and it's a really cute looking PC as well so I wanna enjoy looking at the little thing, it's gonna be right next to me on my desk afterall, and if I ever inevitably need to upgrade something or tweak something or even just clean it then I'm inevitably going to make small or major mistakes and scratches will build up as a consequence of it, not even mentioning my expensive and fragile monitor that if I so much as look at funny it'll scratch up, though if any comments on the internet are to go by I'm "overreacting" and "need a therapist" so, not a normal reaction I guess, haven't found or heard much of anyone out there being super bothered by stuff like this even on stupidly expensive parts.

Also bricked my motherboard BIOS somehow in the process and can't figure out how to save it, obviously very upsetting just when I thought I had finished everything up, might be completely dead and if so then that's that, done completely goofed, gonna start everything all over again and wait for god knows how long to inevitably repeat the process and probably make the same mistakes again as by the time I can afford any of these components again I'd have forgotten everything and be in an even worse physical/mental state to boot to manage my unsteady hands. So I gave up and am in the process of searching for a local technician/repair shop in my region to help (probably should've just started with that tbh, I'm at fault for that), which considering I live in a shitty part of the world is not easy, and for all I know they might make everything worse and handle it 100x more roughly then I ever would, no idea but not much else I can do, I'm so tired and am not a professional on anything obviously haha, am clocking out basically.

I dunno just rambling I guess, not the end of the world or anything - especially if my motherboard is saved and everything else functions in the end (fingers crossed...), I'm even surprised i didn't light the whole thing on fire by some freak mistake considering how badly things usually go in my life haha, but idk my minds so stressed out by so many things in my life that just keep pilling up and getting worse and this just had to happen to add to my already high amounts of, well, everything, when I wanted it to be a brief moment of relief and achievement, but nah I guess, can't ever catch a break.

Anyone can relate or am I just extra weird?
