im not american.
the article literally quotes the owner of the daycare saying “school is free”. Which it isnt. that was a lie from the owner.
What would the sentence "school is free" actually mean then? Do you think the word "free" usually means that it hasn't cost anyone any effort or money to produce? Because it basically always means "the person receiving it doesn't pay for it".
Im not playing petty semantic word games with you.
Oh, but you'll play them with the OP? How unfair.
OP? I was responding to the content of the article. Not whoever posted it.
You dont need to be this obtuse. Are you doing that intentionally?
The quote was from the day care centre complaining about competing with “free daycare”.
I replied to discuss what “free” means.
You then decided to bring in even more specificity. Fine, whatever. But dont whine at me about not being as granular as you prefer.
How about discussing the context of free/tax/paid for daycare and how a private daycare could compete?
You dont need to cry that my wording isnt to your exact preference and expectations. Feel free to redefine it.
Every accusation is a confession.
huh?
Every single thing you complained about there could be said in response to your original post saying "it's not free, it's paid by taxes".
Im not complaining about anything?
You're either a fucking moron or you're vibe-coded into being. Or both, I guess. Probably both.
ok 👍
