I don't think there's anything wrong with being a homer in a local broadcast. It's intended primarily for the surrounding area for the most part so for those fans it'll make it more exciting if the local broadcasters get hyped when the team is doing well.
But, homerism shouldn't blind you to reality and I think that's where the problem comes in with the Warriors announcers. It's like here in Chicago we have Stacey King who is a homer for the Bulls and we had Hawk Harrelson who was a homer for the White Sox. Stacey King does it well but Hawk was often miserable to listen to because he'd always act like the umps were out to get the White Sox or he'd throw tantrums if the team was losing.
