Omega Aqua Terra is an amazing watch that you can get for less than 6k on strap. Tbh you could probably get cheaper at an AD.

Although it is above your designated price range, I feel like I have to mention Tag Heuer Carrera 39mm chronograph. Its $6,450.

I wouldn't waste my time or money, I'd keep saving until I could comfortably afford the watch I really want to get. Good luck what ever you choose.

Speed master

Used GS Lake Suwa no question

[–] GriffonMT@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Can’t get how in Japan they are selling it for 5.5k USD used whilst everyone else are listing them at 7k USD

[–] No_Personality6685@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

They're 5.5k on Chrono24 no?

[–] GriffonMT@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)
[–] No_Personality6685@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Yeah I love those japan sellers. They're carrying Chrono24 hard :)

[–] sd_pinstripes@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

the original Lake Suwa was my favorite, just a slight turnoff that they kept coming out with other models that look pretty similar

[–] richgarc@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Omega Speedmaster Professional with the sapphire back.

600 Invictas

[–] NeverAppropriate@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Just hold on and save till you can get the watch you want …

I'm currently in the marlet for a watch around that budget as well and I've been looking at quite a few of smaller manufacturers. Like for example, Dornblüth & Sohn, Hentchel, Garrick, Sartory Billard, etc.

[–] Unlikely-Middle-7664@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Wow thanks awesome recommendation love the dornblüth and hentschel. Hentschel is like starting 9k in euros

[–] Dm783848hfndb@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Not all of their models. Thanks to a post on here I've been really intrigued by their H2 hafenmeister (klassik) and it's 4,5-5k€. Depending on EU/non-EU and standard or Premium-Package.

[–] Unlikely-Middle-7664@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I see, reading about DD&S i think I wanna go for one small shop handcrafted etc. sounds amazing

[–] Astropin@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

For that you could get a mint but pre-owned Zenith Chronomaster Original (El Primero).

[–] santori9@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Grand Seiko

[–] GFCallsMePapi@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

$6k? You are on the edge blancpain FF vs omega … it’s purgatory really.

[–] bueno_hombre@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You do not need to buy the most expensive watch you can afford, you can also buy the cheapest watch you love.

These things are toys and jewlery none of which or “worth it” so you should not be stretching yourself whatsoever to get one. I love many of the watches you and others listed but I would also checkout brands like Nomos which make beautiful and great pieces for 3k or less.

[–] Evening_Appearance27@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Seiko Spring drive Snowflake.

[–] iconoclastismic@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Look for a used Datejust II for $7k

[–] Internal-Mortgage635@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

OMEGA SPEEDMASTER PROFESSIONAL. ALL DAY. I've been drooling over that watch for years now since collecting in 2016. Absolutely perfect.

[–] -LightOnTheLand@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Panerai submersible or an explorer probably

Those older Railmasters hit the sweet spot!

[–] lmmo1977@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

What are the watches you like that are 8-10k? Maybe there is an "equivalent" a bit cheaper?

Have you considered getting an used one? Don't stay for something that doesn't meet your goal.

[–] Easy_Turn1988@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

A nice textured GS with power reserve

[–] WN11@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I think I'd get a Seiko Prospex LX dive watch. Spring drive, top shelf quality, indestructible, without the obnoxious Grand Seiko or Swiss branding.

[–] Schapsouille@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Used JLC Polaris. One and done.

[–] Unlikely-Middle-7664@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

That’s a nice one love JLC

[–] DrKrFfXx@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

GS. Always GS.

[–] OBB1044@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I would look at Longines Spirit (gmt or not)

[–] More-Complaint@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago
[–] qkomi@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

New FC Big Date Power Reserve one, it's a bit under 5k, amazing value, all depends what kind of watch you want rly, FC Highlife Worldtimer can be had for around 3k and it's amazing, you can get Zenith Defy for 4000-4500

[–] HarrisLam@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Probably Aqua Terra blue. IWC mark 20 is nice, but its not as versatile.

[–] Ok_Parsnip7262@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Omega Aqua Terra 41

[–] icantfindfree@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'd save up for a glashuthe original or Nomos metro datum

[–] dibs124@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Anything from Cartier

[–] Pianist-Wise@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Speedy. Tudor (model depending on your size preference but 54 or 58 are awesome and leaves you money for a second watch) I’d check out Grand Seiko and IWC too. Lots in there under that price target.

[–] blaine1201@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I will sell you my Oris Big Crown Pointer Date for $6k

😂

[–] Glum-Ad4610@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

16233 datejust

[–] cambiumkx@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Save up and get the watch you want

[–] pigfish369@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

GS shunbun, my grail

[–] far_beyond_driven_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Speedmaster or a 5 digit Datejust. Can't go wrong with either one.

[–] fasthall@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Do not buy a watch unless it's the one you actually like. This kind of thread is just asking what watches other people like.

Omega Seamaster diver 300. So sexy and versatile. Use a rubber or canvas band for everyday, leather to dress it up.
