He raped kids. How can anyone still support him? At what point do people see that they voted for:

  • A serial rapist
  • A child rapist
  • A convicted felon
  • A narcissist
  • A lier
  • A cheater
  • Thief and someone that doesn't pay hardworking people
  • .... I mean the list is longer but still
  • A bad business man (casino's make money, right?)

He is actively ruining America. But if you are all for it. What the damn hell.

"But they said our taxes will be lower so he's a good guy in my book" /s

[–] slaneesh_is_right@lemmy.org 4 points 6 days ago

He still has a thing called "approval rating" he is still preaident, he's still alive. So it's just nonsense

[–] slaneesh_is_right@lemmy.org 11 points 6 days ago

He's so slammed now.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago

ooh chuck schumer is gonna write an even harsher letter to the white house. this time he might not doodle hearts in the margins

[–] phantomwise@lemmy.ml 18 points 6 days ago (2 children)

That's still shockingly high...

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago

i thought it was in the twenties already. what the fuck is wrong with that dumbass country

[–] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 7 points 6 days ago

This was my reaction.

When I first saw the title, I was thinking, "it can get lower?" Then I saw the numbers and I'm shocked, shocked!

.... Well, not that shocked.

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 18 points 6 days ago (1 children)

40% of Americans still support him

A month ago it was 45%

I hope this means anything good

[–] MikeRotch@aussie.zone 9 points 6 days ago (1 children)

But if 31.8% (49.8% of 63.9%) of the country voted for him, and that was enough for the Fanta Menace to get in, 40% is sadly an improvement.

Shame on the 36.1% of those who don't care enough about their country to have bothered voting.

Hopefully the Trump government will be the kick in the face Murica needs to wake up.

[–] nfamwap@feddit.uk 6 points 6 days ago

Spoiler: it wont

[–] MangioneDontMiss@lemmy.ca 10 points 6 days ago

as if it matters

[–] Mamdani_Da_Savior@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago

President Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to just 40 percent, the lowest since his return to the White House,

Quotes like this just piss me off, call me when he drops below 33% which is his historical ledge that he doesn't seem to go under, until it hits that, he'll be fine.

[–] lemmy_outta_here@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago

Dear Daily Beast:

Please pause all Trump Approval Rating articles until his approval hits Ceaucescu levels.

Then, by all means, loop me in! Live coverage would be best.

Sincerely, Every person who didn't vote for Trump

[–] SabinStargem@lemmy.today 3 points 6 days ago

Until he is hanging around a gas station, I assume that approval rating means nothing.

Keep it coming!

[–] Steve@startrek.website 116 points 1 week ago (3 children)

40% of the country supports their childfucker-in-chief

[–] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca -2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Don't take this the wrong way, but, is there evidence that he had inappropriate relations with a minor?

I'm not trying to defend the guy at all, I'm genuinely curious what I may have missed. I tend to skip over most of the Trump coverage in the media.... I've seen enough of that Tropicana shithead.

I know there was some pretty strong correlations with Epstein that was brought to light recently, and I think someone testified that he was present at events that included under aged persons, but I have yet to see him accused of any specific activity. He was just.... There.

I mean, I don't need any evidence to dislike the guy, but if I am to take up a defensible position against those that are still deluded enough to support the commander and cheeto, I would like to be working from a solid source.

Thanks in advance. <3

On October 25, 2016, allegations were made by two men stating that Trump had attended and partaken in sex parties filled with underage minor females as young as 15 years old who were induced with promises of career advancement.[174] Illegal drugs were also alleged to have been provided to the minors.[175]

Wikipedia

There's another story about Epstein poaching an underage massage parlor worker from chump that pissed him off. Haven't looked for a source.

Looks like the party line will eventually be that girls that have gone through puberty are really women and that makes it okay. It's pretty disgusting, I'm waiting for them to start making a distinction between pedophilla and hebephillia.

Like a technical distinction where Fox News brings on a tame doctor that explains that it's normal for older men to fuck/rape 14-15 year old girls.

[–] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Thank you very much. This is the first I've heard that his attendance was to a sex party for underaged persons, and that he partook in the event. Even if it's "just" an allegation.

Hebephilia is a new term for me as well; my immediate opinion is that anyone bothering to make the distinction between paedophilia and hebephilia, is already problematic and likely either trying to justify paedophilia, or differentiate some action to distance it from paedophilia, despite it meeting all of the criteria for paedophilia.

I can sort of understand attraction to persons who have completed their physical development (post-pubescent) who may not be legally an adult yet... Not that I would agree or even condone anything of that nature, but hebephilia, for anyone who doesn't know, is attraction to those in the early stages of puberty. Regardless of what it's called, you're a fully grown adult and should have enough self discipline to refrain from pursuing any inappropriate and/or illegal intimate relations. Grow up, be the adult you are.

[–] Machinist@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, it's disgusting. What's arguably worse is that all this has been known for like a decade. There's all kinds of sound and fury about it now. I figure it's media manipulation by the really rich fucks as warning shot across chump's bow to tell him to quit fucking up the economy and stay in his lane. Soon this fury will decline, even here on Lemmy, and he'll go back to fucking kids or putting them in concentration camps or whatever as long as he quits fucking around with tariffs and global trade.

[–] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 4 points 6 days ago

Exactly. I worded my statement quite deliberately, that these things have been brought to light. The information was there, we're just putting it in the lime light now...

Regardless, the depressing part is that you're probably correct with why all of this is being brought up.... There seems to be a power struggle of massive proportions going on and all of us "little people" are caught in the middle.

It will stay that way unless someone else follows in Luigi's footsteps, or one of the powerful people in this pissing contest backs down.

There is a very serious rot in the USA. It's the kind of rot that says empathy is a sin and that kindness is weakness. It's the kind of rot that says hate and bigotry are good, and kindness and acceptance are what's wrong with society. That America is best when it is what Liberals say is worst. And don't delude yourself. The rot is much higher than the 40% cited in this poll, for 100% of the Republicans and a decent chunk of independents would vote for the shitgibbon over anything on the Left because they've drank the koolaid from Team Red about Team Blue. And if that's not bad enough, enough Team Blue has drunk the Russian koolaid and will stay home or vote third party to enable Team Red to steal things and break shit.

They'd rather a 'childfucker-in-chief' to borrow Steve's line than have a Dem in charge. Both groups.

The only approval rating that matter are the House and Senate. Otherwise, he remains president.

[–] btaf45@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago

The only approval rating that matter are the House and Senate.

This is a good time to point out that the 2 seat GOP majority in the House was stolen. 16 GOP seats are from gerrymandering. An actually representative congress would have a 14 seat Dem majority.

https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/how-gerrymandering-tilts-2024-race-house

And Texas is going to increase the 16 stolen gerrymandring seats to 21 stolen GOP seats because they don't think that 16 stolen seats will be enough in the next election.

I need it to somehow be in the negatives

[–] leadore@lemmy.world 22 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Not clicking on yet another clickbait "feel-good" article, but what is it this time-41%? Because every "New Low!!!1!" reported on is always in the low to mid 40's. Always.

These articles are purely to make the left feel a little better, which makes Democratic politicians think they can just wait a little bit longer, thinking "maybe this whole Trump thing will work itself out without me risking my position." (I'm looking at you, Schumer.)

But it's always going to be 40%, because as Trump does worse and worse things, the public gets more and more used to it, and his fascist corruption feels normal and comfortable. So it's precisely because Democratic politicians don't put up a real fight to maintain the standards and institutions Trump and the GOP are obliterating that approval never drops much below 40%. Because without Democrats enforcing standards, they will just keep falling.

And I just saw somewhere else his disapproval rating was 55% and then Fox is claiming the GOP is doing so well it’s a miracle. They can’t keep their lies straight.

[–] muusemuuse@sh.itjust.works 4 points 6 days ago

40% now, but that doesn’t actually mean anything.

[–] the_riviera_kid@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

Every time I see a new headline about is approval rating its the same headline yet some how he is still in office. It seems almost as if the U.S isn't actually a democracy after all.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Because the US system is that there is an election every four years and only every four years even if the leader does a horrendous job. In Canada, if enough people are unhappy with the government, we have processes for calling an early election
