"epic snub" seems a little exaggerated for something that fat orange fascist was never qualified for in the first place.

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 36 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

The committee had some choice words that made it pretty epic tbh.

Basically said something like they don't like it when people campaign for the novel peace prize, and that it's something that definitely gets talked about when making the decision.

[–] Whiskey_iicarus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

But that just tells me he's not the first, only, or likely last person to solicit something he isn't qualified for from this committee. Not exactly epic if they are just stating the obvious out loud.

As far as what the nobel peace prize committee says on the record, that's about as brutal of a fucking slam as you're ever going to hear.

Words have lost all meaning. Brutal to point out character flaws that everyone already knows about and epic that they talk it about openly. SLAMMED!

Snub usually has a negative connotation for the one doing the snubbing. Additionally they didn't ignore him, they just called out his bad behavior.

I didn't get an Oscar this year. I was epicly snubbed.

I didn't do anything related to the movies, but still it was an epic snub. How could the Academy do this to me? 🤣

[–] maxxadrenaline@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Well you didn’t get a Darwin Award either or a razzie. You’ll survive.

Trump is still salty about 'Spy Magazine,' which was a local NYC magazine that went out of business years ago.

They mocked him without mercy. Once they did a list of the cheapest New Yorkers. They sent 100 rich folks personal checks for about $5.00. Only half bothered to cast them. Then they lowered it to $2.00. About a dozen people took the bait.

The editors sent checks for thirteen cents [13 pennies, not enough to make a phone call] and two people cashed the checks. Trump and an arms dealer.

LMAO! Never heard of that but it's hysterical.

What a cheap bastard. Literally scrooge.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

You shoulda seen Fred Christ Trump. Got a Woody Guthrie song named for him he was such a miserable bastard.

Ironically, I could see Taco blaming it on his equivalent of a.....autopen.

I like that he'd send pictures of his hands and notes in golden Sharpie for decades. This is from 2015, but at that point, it had gone on for 25 years. I mean, the Confederates dismiss critical conversations about Taco as "TDS", but to have a vendetta about an insult from 1984? That's some actual derangement right there...

The amazing thing about Trump is that no writer would ever produce such a complete idiot.

I knew about the whole 'short fingers thing,' but I had no idea he was still sending pictures.

Even the Governor from 'Blazing Saddles' would have called it off.

[–] KittyJynx@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

The best thing the phrase was "short fingered vulgarian" aka a common pickpocket. Trump did not get the reference and assumed they were talking about his hands.

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social 2 points 2 weeks ago

I've never heard that, but it just makes it funnier.

[–] Empricorn@feddit.nl 33 points 2 weeks ago

It's not an "epic snub" at all when he never deserved it, by any metric. He's simply an overgrown toddler who wants something. The facts and logic of why don't matter, he just hasn't been told 'no' enough...

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 27 points 2 weeks ago

It's not a snub if you were never in the rubbing, or even meet the basic requirements. While the nominations were choosing, he was still threatening Canada and Greenland with invasion. He has only since failed to fulfill his promise of ending two foreign invasions, has assaulted free speech in his own country, weapon's the DoJ, the DoD and DHS against his own constituents and political rivals...

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 18 points 2 weeks ago

You mean the demented rapist wont shut up about some meaningless bullshit no one can bear to hear trotted out for the seven hundredth time because he’s got severe dementia and it’s only going to get more pathetic and terrifying?

No shit?

I mean, it went to an American puppet who dedicated the award to him... I guess this reaction is either a display of his insecurities and childishness, a reaction to missing such good PR, or both?

[–] ClassStruggle@lemmy.ml 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

He won it via proxy with that puppet of his in Venezuela

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 3 points 2 weeks ago

It's not really his puppet, she's a wanna be imperialist collaborator. She wants to sell her country off for a little slice of the profits, she's hoping someone will take her up on the offer and install her as president

[–] quick_snail@feddit.nl 7 points 2 weeks ago

How many war criminals got the Nobel?

Fuck Nobel.

[–] thesohoriots@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

“I’m going to get that prize, so I’m assembling a beautiful team, folks, and we’ll need one of those aero…airplane…bat-people, from the Cirque du Soleil, the best they’ve got, and a demolition man…”

[–] krooklochurm@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

You son of a bitch, I'm in.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 1 points 2 weeks ago
