When I became a naturalized Canadian citizen I voted for the first time in my life in any election, and it was NDP, because they were the closest thing to what I want.

I honestly want this shit to stop. I want affordable housing again, I want rent control, and I want lease transfers (when they ended that people said it would absolutely show a spike in homelessness, which it did). For one thing that would make me sound conservative is that I want the current bullshit on firearms bans to be stop and be repealed. The Canadian licensing scheme for firearms has been very successful in preventing bad guys from getting guns, showing in that very few criminal guns in Canada are sourced from legal Canadian sources. The worst shooting in Canadian history that happened in Nova Scotia in 2022 was done with smuggled AR-15s from the United States. The shooter had one gun sourced from Canada, but how he got it is a monumental failure of the RCMP... the shooter was the executor of someone's estate, and that person legally owned a pistol when he was alive. The RCMP could have swept in and took it, as the shooter not only did not have an RPAL, but also had a criminal record and a history of alcoholism (both of which would bar anyone from getting an RPAL or PAL approved).

Basically the current state of the liberals with the failed gun bans is both very expensive (and they haven't collected a single damn rifle yet) and highly ineffectively and driven entirely by simple hatred of firearms and sport shooting... and the money continues to be diverted from more essential services like healthcare and housing, in addition to trying to pass the equivalent of the Patriot Act without any justification whatsoever and warrantless digital spying on Canadians and online IDs... it is giving me a headache just to think about it.

This is shit I would have expected from conservatives. Not liberals...

My God I fucking hate the liberals so fucking bad. All of their shit. The conservatives are bad... but would they be this fucking bad?

I voted for him because I dreaded what the conservatives would do if they got elected. Now I see that there isn't much of a fucking difference. If anything he might be even worse. No wonder Trump endorsed him.

Does protest even do anything? I voted for Carney because I dreaded what the conservatives wanted to do and I voted liberal for the first (and now will be only) time in my life. Almost immediately all the shit I dreaded was happening anyway.

I am a naturalized citizen who came to Canada to escape bullshit like this. Yet we are getting more of this crap and I feel like there is no hope. More and more authoritarian shit and weaker economic outlooks and even the rapid fire gun bans that do nothing other than want to eliminate sport shooting (I enjoy guns and I enjoy sport shooting. No I do not believe people should be carrying loaded guns on the street or form militas against the gubnament. Don't be ridicules). Is making Canada unlivable for me.

This is why privacy rights are critical. All the whiners who say "buh whaddabout da guilty ones?' Shut up, those people get away constantly despite all that shit and the only people getting harassed are protesters and activists.

Ever since 2018 I have been getting a flu shot every year, too. Why? In 2018 I had the worst flu ever. It was BAD. Arguably worse than even the one time I got covid in 2022 (despite being twice vaccinated for that at the time). The horror of that flu made me never want to get the flu again.

I did... but it was never that bad.

OK someone keep me up to date... what happened? I think the last civilization I played was 5, and I dont recall that one being able to change civilizations midgame.

Edit: sorry last one I played was 6. And I don't remember being forced fo change civs. Was it in a DLC or what?
