They gambled on that but he was already injury prone on the Pelicans and had major injuries. Not exactly smart by the Lakers to think he'd be carrying them/face of the franchise long term. Plus he's been in the league since 19. They will have to rebuild in a couple years.

I'm shocked at how many times I see NBA players not just go up and dunk it instead of trying to lay it in. Saw Kawhi do that a week ago too with an easy put back, tries to dunk with one hand instead of just using both.

He had Banchero under him, thats why he hung on longer and tried to avoid landing on someone. Does the NBA care more about player safety or trying to be strict against anything that appears as showboating?
