This is the most "I use arch BTW" comment I've read in forever. We are all so impressed

I get the point of the comic, but you could do the same with a lot of things. "For fun" is a perfectly valid reason.

Well. So am i

[–] notarobot@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 days ago

Not the same:

  • sendme requires an install. Sharecrop was browser based. Which also increases security
  • the transfer requires a id I'd have to copy to the VM by hand each time I want to transfer. Sharedrop was a single code for the whole session

p2p file transfer without accounts. You just sent a link or scanned a qr code and nos you were connected. Always used it for vms. I've been using pairdrop.net as a replacement

I don't need to read the article. They runied sharedrop.io and I'll never forgive them for that

[–] notarobot@lemmy.zip 2 points 4 days ago

Huh. Well that is really stupid. It's double annoying because I've had I teresting conversations with them, so they are worth reading but not if this keeps happening

That is not how I read it. If he had shot and left a note saying "fuck billionaires" or "fuck CEOs" then it would be terrorism because he would be threatening them. But his problem was just this guy. It was plain murder / revenge.

The internet made him a champion of "anti billionaires" against his will

Wait. Is that something that actually happens? I thought it was a porn thing. I'm not from an English speaking country so it doesn't happen here

How can people say baby to their SO? I find it so off putting

[–] notarobot@lemmy.zip 5 points 6 days ago (5 children)

Really? What makes you say that? Is it like a trend or something?

I think they have some sort of bug. When i pointed it out last time, they replied the next message without it

I think I know the answer, bit maybe I'm missing something

Since proton only sends and receives encrypted emails to other proton accounts, that means that when you get or send an email to someone else, they have to send / receive unencrypted and there is no way for us to verify what they are doing. Right?

Also if most accounts are google Microsoft, they still get 90% of my emails. By switching to proton I think I've gained nothing, while losing convenience , added another trust point, and having two different companies have my data instead of just one

Proton drive, calendar and VPN I think are fine

Sorry for the poor syntax. I'm at work working on email related things, and this topic kept distracting me. I might correct it later
