A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

If you could only use one lens for the rest of time what would it be?

M43 shooter - the Olympus 20mm f1.4.

Weather sealed, great focal length, balances well on my medium sized bodies, and got so much crap because of purple fringing on early reviews that I was able to buy it cheaper new than used. Folks are starting to catch on and it's becoming more popular. Such a nice and compact travel lens.

I tried it and flipped it. I love the 20mm 1.7 and the PL 25mm 1.4.

I found no compelling reason to use the 20mm 1.4 from Olympus when the Panasonic is smaller, and, if I want 1.4, I can use the 25 to even greater effect and it's the same size.

I do think the rest of Olympus's pro line is unbeatable though.

I have the 12-40 2.8 parked on my E-M1.3, but I have the 20mm 1.7 as my every day lens for my smaller micro four thirds cameras, and have for about 15 years now.

Had an olympus EM1 M11 for a long time. Beside the supreme 12-45f4 pro, the PL 25 1.4 ii was my standard-lens and shot 75% of my photos. Fantastic lens!
