This is why I make sure I only train people to an incredibly low standard. Training isn't actually listed in my job role anyway and it ensures job security.
Yes, training them better would be better for the company. I am aware of that, but here we are. Gotta think of myself, because they sure won't.

Same, I got laid off recently and 12 years of experience isn't even getting me interviews at in-person jobs.
The way out is to pivot away from now-oversaturated fields.
There is and has been this whole time a massive blinking sign that points to the way out and it is called "Unionize"
The way out is creating cooperative companies where the programmers have more votes than marketing people.
