Is it the first time Singapore has made it so far?
This might baffle you, but Singapore had been one of the strongest SEA teams until very recently - they won the second most amount of regional cups after Thailand. They made it to the penultimate round multiple times and were quite competitive in some of them.
Singapore has held Japan to 0-0 draw, in Japan before.
