Have a need to ship some PC-spec servers over international freight, balance of cost and performance. Have found some short-depth rack mount cases 2U which should in theory be cost effective because of standardised CPU coolers and ATX PSUs instead of 1U/2U stuff, however there is big variance in weight of these things.

Has anyone done any collation or have any gut feel? Seems like some of the Seasonics get down to about 1.5kg.

At the same time you need to ensure it’s a quality psu.

Saving a few dollars in freight by going to a lighter weight psu could end costing more if it dies or causes issues.

Yeah 100%, I can probably get over to maintain these in March, so as long as it's good for a few months I'll be fine though.

Found that Silverstone SFX ones come with ATX adapters and weigh 1kg.
It's going in a Silverstone rack case.
