Would that imply the old lawyers were acting in trump's interest rather than their client's? And wouldn't that imply a breech of ethics with potentially severe penalties?

It implies the MAGA lawyer advise his client to lie to a grand jury.

Which is my exact point. I'm not a lawyer, but this seems like a clear breach of ethics which should be pursued through the Bar and perhaps result in disbarment. Make the punishment severe enough that no lawyer is willing to do it. Take away the rocks these assholes hide under.

Not necessarily. It could mean that they thought their client's best interest was to deny everything because they didn't think the indictment would go through.

It could also mean the client was lying to his first lawyers, saying he did nothing wrong. Or it could mean the client is now lying to his new lawyers to save his own ass and strike a plea deal.

Changing testimonies makes any testimony seem very unreliable if it isn't backed up by evidence.
