Fix the issue with read posts. Can't stand having to see the same top posts over and over again.

[โ€“] kratoz29@lemm.ee 1 points 3 months ago

The lack of that feature alone was that made me move to Sync, the first day that it was gone I dropped it lol, still waiting for the, eventual update.

Proper implementation of Lemmy's markdown.

  • Ability to copy community's link in Lemmy format

  • Ability to link/reference communities in a comment using @ symbol (you press @ and start typing community's name and it drops down a list to select one). Not sure how viable to implement this would be, sounds hard... ๐Ÿฅน

  • Similar as above - ability to call a Lemmy user via @ symbol and get a drop down of usernames, starting with the ones commenting on the same link? (Lower priority than linking communities)

Lemmy syntax to do these things is super weird and would be really helpful if Sync helped automating it.

Other than that - props and thanks to the devs for making this awesome app. Wish other apps had so many customization options and put user comfort first. Those "little" things like, for example, ability to search through options or even directly link to specific options are super cool! And the fact that you ask users what they'd like to see next is just an icing on the cake ๐Ÿ˜Š

For the auto complete of linking, shouldn't Sync follow the Lemmy convention and communities start with ! and users start with @ or is that what you mean by super weird?

[โ€“] Blizzard@lemmy.zip 4 points 4 months ago

Yes, exclamation is fine (or whatever is the official way, I think I saw community links starting with !@ ?)

Oh, and one other thing I just remembered I'd love to see in Sync - Crossposting. Right now if I want to crosspost, I need to leave the app.

[โ€“] MysticKetchup@lemmy.world 8 points 4 months ago

Better crossposting support. Web view shows you communities that something has been crossposted to and has an easy crosspost button. Would like to see the same in Sync

Would be cool if we could create private tags on users. Say someone gives you a really cool tip and you want to remember that, you tag them. Or someone acts like kind-of-a-jerk but not enough to block them yet, you make a note of it. You can only see your own tags, nobody else's.

I'd like for it to be easier to open YouTube links in my browser.

Every time I select something interesting, it opens my app. Maybe this is just a setting I'm missing. Not sure.

Maybe just a "copy link" button?

[โ€“] videogamesandbeer@lemmy.world 12 points 4 months ago (1 children)

This is an Android thing. In your Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Opening Links > YouTube - Disallow "open supported links"

Depending on your phone, the way to get there might be different, but it's the operating system that handles links.

[โ€“] OhmsLawn@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago

Oh right-fucking-on!

Works perfectly.

Thank you!!!

This is more of a fix than a feature, but I find that sometimes when I'm in my inbox, I can't get back to my home screen. It's inconsistent but it happens a lot, and I usually have to open a comment reply, then go to the thread, then the community, and then I can use the home button again.

It's something that happened with Sync for Reddit too, so it's not a new issue. I can't seem to work out a pattern of circumstances though, it just seems to happen randomly.

[โ€“] sabreW4K3@lazysoci.al 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Ah, yep. If you open the app from a notification, it's impossible to get out of the inbox.

[โ€“] sanguinepar@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago

Oh, is THAT what it is? Thanks, I couldn't figure it out at all! ๐Ÿ‘

[โ€“] floorjam@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

On sync for reddit, you could zoom into an image preview by dragging down the holding finger. Would love to see it coming back ;)

[โ€“] floorjam@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Really? Is it a config or something? I can't seem to manage ^^

[โ€“] Turun@feddit.de 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I have compact view. I tap on a thumbnail to make the image "full screen". In short succession I tap on the screen once, then touch and drag, which zooms the image.

Since I have it set to dismiss/leave "full screen" via of images by swiping the image up or down I need the tap before dragging to zoom into the image.

[โ€“] tb_@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

That wouldn't work on article images, as those link to the article.

I don't know if Sync ever had it, but Joey for Reddit allowed me to zoom into article images by holding down on them and then pinching with my other fingers. A bit awkward, but welcome nonetheless.

[โ€“] floorjam@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

Yeah, if I remember correctly, on reddit this worked in sync. Just hold the finger and drag down to zoom in. Worked in images, videos, article images... And as soon as you let go with the finger, back to the normal list

[โ€“] p5yk0t1km1r4ge@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

A proper blocking option? I've blocked the same community twice now for their nsfw content and it always unblocks. It's ridiculous

[โ€“] can@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Really? Are you filtering through sync or the actual built in Lemmy blocks? I havent had any issues with blocked comms/instances appearing.

[โ€“] p5yk0t1km1r4ge@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Maybe it's a sync thing? Hadn't thought about that.

Try blocking them at the account level. You should able to do that in app now.

New user but it's great seeing the responses here. I'm enjoying the feel of the app and will be supporting soon. Thx guys.

I want the ability to filter posts in my feed by type. I don't want to see any image posts.
