The branch analytics got added in version 8 so 7 should be safe. I don't think it was added in version 8.0 but a slightly later patch, but I avoid it nonetheless.
This isn't 2010 with Android Froyo where you need task manager to kill apps. And lower quality? All this comment needs is something about camera quality and we have a bingo.

I deleted my original reply to your comment because I didn't realize it was the repacks that were to blame and installing some of them really is a pain. I did try again and after a lot of tinkering and fixing it's going fine for now. Steam and gog games run well so far.

You used to be able to unlock cosmetic content by playing instead of paying. They're taking advantage.
That last version that was truly great. If it wasn't unsupported I'd still be using it.
I'm using it on Plasma 6 with AMD graphics and so far it's going good. When I had Nvidia I had issues with electron based applications. Games have been running pretty good regardless of the GPU, though Forza horizon 5 wouldn't launch under Nvidia for some reason.
