I have an ASUS Zenfone 8 and I love that even the latest version still has a 3.5mm out, but I just started poking around in the settings for my Samsung Galaxy tablet and realized that Samsung Galaxy devices get Dolby Atmos. (Movies have never been better!) It got me thinking, what phones do other auditorily-inclined people use? Does AptX/LDAC support matter to you? Does audio go into your purchasing decisions at all?

I just got notice of this today, and I applied. I hope I will get selected. Is anyone here chosen to participate?

The Noble Audio Fokus Prestige. A TWS IEM with a 8.2mm dynamic driver and 2 Knowles BA drivers.
There is no ANC but one of the best sounding Bluetooth IEM’s I have heard. Noble has an App for EQ and setting up the touch controls.
I just love the sound straight up myself and with a few test tracks Blues Traveler “ Run-Around”, White Stripes “ Seven Nation Army” and Frank Sinatra “Fly Me To The Moon” it was great for me.
For some reason I have tried to post this a couple of times and has not gotten thru so maybe this will.
The build is just beautiful the case and IEM’s are of wood what type I don’t know but just beautiful.

I am trying to find what impedance headphones I should buy. I will be using these headphones mostly for djing but sometimes with my laptop. If I want to maximize sound quality should I just go for the lowest possible or can I get away with something ~80+?

Hi,

So last post, I went to a nearby store in Sweden to try out the Audeze LCD-X, connected to a Burson conductor 3x. I wasn't pleased with what I heared and it was my fault because I connected to the amp via bluetooth.

However, moving forward..

I saw Sennheiser 599 being on sale on Amazon and I just had to buy it (even though finding out later that they wasn't reduced that much).

I ordered them yesterday and received them today. I disconnected my Beyerdynamics DT770 Pro 250. I Connected the Sennheiser to my Scarlett 2i4 audio interface and started listening to my usual songs on Spotify.

I immediately reacted to something, it was more like: "What? I haven't heard that before in this song."
Next song plays, which is Flight by Hannah Parrott, the beginning of the song was just so amazing and the level of detail is something I never thought I would hear. When the violin comes in, I started to shiver, the level of precision and detail was just amazing that I almost teared up. It felt like the violin was here, in my room.

I never thought I would be amazed by such headphones given the price tag that I consider to be cheap. Nevertheless, it is by far the best headphones I have ever purchased and I'm afraid I'm not done - yet.

This is not the "end-game", but a start to a whole new journey that I never thought I would get in to.

Thank you so much for reading.

Kind regards,

Gabe

Has anybody been doing any comparisons of the best sounding bluetooth headphones? For example, Rtings.com like the Focal Bathys, but there are others out there they haven't tested like the Edifier STAX Spirit S3. I'm hoping some redditors have done some comparisons.

Firstly, I am coming from a few different headphones. I had a Bowers and Wilkins P5, Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, a Crossfade Vmoda 1 and my ex had an Apple Airpods Max

I bought the Sony's because my Samsung's start giving me ear infections when I push them in my ear for prolonged periods. My Crossfade was a work horse but the battery dies within an hour now.

Anyway, I needed a Bluetooth headphones I can actually use and got these on on black Friday. So my fish impressions of these headphones is that they look a bit unassuming not super high-end by any means but you can tell they're a bit high quality when you look closer.

When I first put them on I didn't have the Sony app I only got at maybe about our two songs in and I will say right out of the box they didn't sound that impressive I actually had demoed the Vmoda crossfade 3 headphones that sounded much much better out of the box. However everyone says use to Sony app with these headphones so I did and wow these headphones are just incredible the the sound is so clear so crisp I've never really appreciated mids and highs so much as I'm a bit of basshead, though I will say the mids are slightly recessed but the mids still sound so clear I'm hearing so many instruments that none of my previous headphones including the Bowers and Wilkins was able to reproduce this clarity. Not even the Apple to my ear. The Apple Airpods always sounded good but never really great.

The Bowers and Wilkins sound amazing in their own way but they're a bit too warm however the XM4000s are just so alive so full sound stage is amazing and the sound quality is incredible.

Now onto the bass. The bass well it's definitely there and the bass really hits you hard sometimes, as a basshead it's some intense riveting shit!

However, the weak part in the bass is that the sub-base is lacking, you won't miss it in lots of songs. I have extensively listened to many songs on my Bowers and Wilkins and I can definitely hear difference in sub bass.

But you do get used to it and I don't miss it like I thought I would.

I also honestly can't believe how good the noise cancelling sorry is on these headphones.

I love the adaptive noise cancelling it's really awesome to know that when I'm walking on the streets noise canceling is reduced so I can hear like sirens or whatever I need to hear it's just a really cool feature and it adapts so quickly it's not like a delayed or laggy.

Roday I was actually walking to work and I heard some construction noises and within a second or two noise cancelling kicked in and reduced it significantly that is something futuristic really cool s*** on these headphones.

So all in all I will say these headphones are outstanding and I don't get the bad rep that many of us many of you audiophiles give it. I think they're amazing and with the bass turned up slightly from the default settings as well as maybe the the highs a bit (I have sort of have a v-shaped equalizer) they just sound incredible.

I tried these earlier today and I don't need further convincing. Just a few questions in case anyone is able to help out:

  • Still deciding between the SRM400s and SRM252S. I tried the former but was wondering how big the difference really is between the two? Also, should I consider the SRM353x?
  • I was planning to get the energizer and headphones used – is that a reasonable idea?
  • Do I need anything else apart from the energizer and headphones? I plan to listen to them with my FLAC library on my laptop.

Thanks!!
