The AirBNB’s I’m seeing in the major cities are incredibly expensive. I’ve looked at private rooms in hostels, but they’re basically the same price, and have no dedicated work space. Will we have to suck it up and pay the high prices, or is there another way?

Now imagine doing the same but alone.

I wish I could split my room in half. But it's always a choice between selling a kidney and being in a 14th people's bedroom.

Ranting just to say that yeah, it's expensive to have a roof over your head, it sucks but that's how it is. As mentioned by others, staying in long terms helps get this down a bit.

Yep, turns out tons of other people are willing to pay the high prices.
