You know like the classic hitman, criminal, or secret agent, etc. trying to present as a normal suburban family.

I used to be strictly materialist and atheist. Now I’m pretty spiritual. Don’t necessarily follow a religion and don’t support bigotry but yeah, I’m fairly spiritual now. This is a recent development and I never thought I’d be here like 5 years ago.

This is a follow-up to my question from yesterday. My “toxic trait” is that long-distance travel is what really excites me, so Europe is off the list. My initial top choice was South Korea, but the drinking age is 19 and I really want to be able to go clubbing, so that’s also off the list.

Japan’s pros are obvious, it’s one of the top travel destinations in the world. The downside for me is that I’ve already been there with my family, so it might not feel as exciting as going somewhere completely new.

China wasn’t even on my radar at first, but then I saw that Swiss citizens can travel visa-free for 30 days between March 14, 2024 and December 31, 2026, which really sparked my interest.

Taiwan is another option, but I honestly don’t know much about it.

Today, for the first time on Lemmy, I received a message about posting being forbidden from VPNs.

The main thing is the title of the post, the body of the post is an addition and clarification to the question.

Article for example: Google’s AI Sent an Armed Man to Steal a Robot Body for It to Inhabit, Then Encouraged Him to Kill Himself, Lawsuit Alleges -- https://futurism.com/artificial-intelligence/google-ai-robot-body-suicide-lawsuit

My thoughts, not quite related to the question:

Well, how are you going to get through your last year when AI could get out of hand in 2027?

What is happening in the world reminds me of a novel - I have no mouth, but I must scream. Have you read this novel?

I called it quits with my boyfriend today on a video call. It had been brewing for a while, and the breakup was very amicable. Instead of feeling angry or sad, I actually feel fresh and excited. I think it’s because we got into the relationship very quickly, and I never really got the chance to explore or “play the field.”

Back before it was bought out, Jersey Mikes used to make the best tuna salad sub I’ve ever had. Does anyone remember the recipe? I’ve gotten close once. I think it was chunk light tuna, and way more mayo than seems reasonable. Given its Atlantic City roots, I assume it was Hellmann's and not Duke's or Kewpie. Were there any other ingredients?

This seems like such a simple thing to me, and yet the US just can't seem to get it done. What are the issues preventing this?

In my head libertarians are the right and anarchists are the left but they are similar in ideals (little to no government intervention). At least in the sense that if you talk to a libertarian I feel they tend to sound socially right and an anarchist tends to sound socially left. I have no idea if this makes sense at all. If you're going to tell me to read more, sure, recommend some literature though.

Does the post live on forever in other lemmy versions?

This was the first movie made by Quentin Tarantino that I watched. I didn't know anything about the movie, apart from a handful of references I observed from memes.

The story was undoubtedly different from other movies yet in a way still entertaining. However I am unbeknownst to what the actual plot of this movie was supposed to be nor what was special about it to be considered so popular. Does the fact that it deviates from traditional storytelling in itself act as a selling point?

For me it's saying, "we can't joke about anything anymore". Sirens go off immediately 🚨

To me it shouldn't matter, but it feels weird having the bathroom door open all the time. Also my shower sometimes does a midnight clunk for no obvious reason and it's loud.

I never really thought about it until now, since I've never lived in a "master bedroom" with attached bathroom until now. Still on the fence, leaning towards keeping it open for convenience and airflow/dehumidification more than anything. Obviously I shut it after things get smelly.

I was chatting with my parents last night, and they said that since we’re stuck in Switzerland and I seem quite bored, and since I’m a legal adult now, why don’t I go on a trip abroad alone? I’m considering it, but I’ve never traveled solo before, so I don’t know.

I work a very strange rotating schedule so breakfast, lunch and dinner aren't really a thing for me. That said, I treat the final meal of the day as my most important and largest.

I have this scene in my head that goes something like this:

Mom: "Good night, my lovely son"

30 minutes later

Mom quietly enters my room

Pets me on my head for a good few seconds

Suddenly pulls out a knife and stabs me

I struggle to say with my last breath: "Mooommmm... why? 🥺"

Does anyone else have a brain that just think weird shit like this?

When it comes to privacy, one of the first things people mention is threat modeling. However, searching up how to do threat modelling shows me results targeted at people with some technical knowledge.

I am unfortunately not one of those people. So I'm left wondering how a non-technical person can come to develop a threat model. Is this even possible? If not, how much would I need to dedicate to develop the technical skills needed to create one? Which ones would be beneficial to focus on? And, since I imagine one can develop those skills indefinitely, what are the different stages one might expect to reach and what would be important to reach each one?

Maybe I'm asking for a deeper guide than can be answered on Lemmy. If so, I hope it'll at least inspire someone to write that guide.
