I love how this could be completely farcical in nature or at the same time completely legit, i.e. meditating on a cactus. Or could it be something else entirely, as I note the various supplies around him?

Btw, I've gone through a lot of Moebius art lately, and I have to kind of scold myself for not previously recognising just how masterful he was across various levels. Sort of like a panel of dials and levers that represented things like creativity, setting, color vs B&W, detail level and overall message or non-message, he could play with those settings however he fancied... and produce masterpieces no matter what.

I think the cactus balances the picture out well, it feels like a counterweight to the meditating person.

My imagination turns those into tea ceremony supplies, I think that fits the meditative atmosphere. In reality I have no clue what they are of course.
