As a west supporter I'm fine with this. Though I'm not fully convinced on the magnitude of the spoiler effect, eg. If 2% want to vote for west that doesn't mean that those 2% vote for Kamala if he's off the ballot, they'll most likely just not vote. The race in Penn seems really tight though so anything to get Harris over the line is good.
If you arent in a swing state ( eg. Margin bigger then 10%) and think Kamala's tacking too far right then id recommend looking into west. He and stein get a lot of slander on here because people are deathly afraid of spoilers but his platform is actually pretty good if you want to do a protest vote. Again in a non-swing state so everyone doesn't come after me for "helping trump"
Well said.
Just so you know, they'll still come after you because you're not voting for Harris. People like to accuse us of being Trump voters just for not falling in line. Apparently, we're part of some conspiracy to get Trump back in office by... supporting third parties on Lemmy of all places? Yeah, because Lemmy's totally not hostile to third-party voters, right? Clearly, our "Russian agents being paid in Russian bitcoinz" plan is working flawlessly.
But seriously, I thought I’d be into West at first too, but I never felt like he was genuine, even if I respect what he's trying to do. I admire anyone who takes a shot at the Duopoly, even if they’re not getting my vote.
no dude, the stakes are high and nobody wants Trump to win. it is a tense situation.
I am sure plenty of people would be happy to see you express your third-party vote if it doesn’t mean a swing state goes to Trump.
Every vote for Harris is stealing a vote from third-party candidates who represent real change. By sidelining those voices, you’re indirectly helping Trump win!
Are you so scared that Trump may win, that you actually want to limit people's choices and don't want them to have their own opinions and choices?! Guess which side of the political aisle that sounds like? Hint: the guy you are so afraid of is running for prez on that side...
Think about what you are saying. Do you not see how slippery that slope is?! You want to limit what people see because of your fear of who may get elected. A huge freedom taken away.
Are you suggesting that news articles that don’t represent the majority opinion in this community shouldn’t be shared or viewed at all? Do you think certain news should be hidden from the public?
It sounds like you’re advocating for limiting choices and restricting access to information. I’d really appreciate some clarification because, to me, it sounds like you’re endorsing censorship and would rather this space be an echo chamber.
