The number of users who posted AI-generated images in response is just saddening. The whole point of the post was to see the many facets of human imagination, and those users had absolutely nothing to say but just had to say something anyway.

~~Pretty much~~ all the ones that people actually drew themselves were great and very creative.

I think one interesting facet of the AI art thing is that the bar for "genuine meaningful content" really drops. I think lots of people are/were too intimidated to post their personal creations on the Internet because until now that type of content was dominated by the skilled artists out there. But now, since anyone can go make a half decent AI art thing, suddenly any actual human generated content gains way more meaning, regardless of skill

I mean, maybe. Personally, I haven't seen one AI generated image ever that doesn't look "wrong" and offputting.

All I can say to those people is that I'm one of you; I'm terrible at drawing but have learned to embrace it as a unique style. I can only speak for myself, but I'd rather see the crudest photoshop than some mostly pixel perfect AI-generated abomination.

personally i enjoyed the attempts to "ai over" the really bad-on-purpose ones because that just made the ai fuck up even harder. it becomes performance art at that point.
