Welcome to a Star Trek community where you’re free to chat and share your opinions about all things Trek!

I want to have a place where fans can come to praise, discuss, and even criticise things in the Star Trek franchise. No show or movie is perfect, and I don't believe people should be silenced for having a dissenting opinion. That being said, there are still a few rules.

Be Nice - No personal attacks. You can disagree with someone's opinion, but it needs to stop there.

No Slurs - This is applicable to ethnicity, religion, gender, or anything else.

No Adult Content - Keep it family friendly.

No Spamming or Trolling - Consistently spamming comments or trolling is just not needed.

Please keep topics Trek related or Trek adjacent for the most part, and have fun!

I just moved to a new place not too long ago and I finally have enough room to set up a Star Trek corner! What is everyone decorating with? I ignored collectibles for years because I didn't want the temptation to clutter things up but now I have the room. When I look around at what's available it seems everyone makes things and it's scattered in all different little shops. Which makes it hard to get a good idea of what is out there!

That's great! I remember when I first had the room to get some collectible stuff! I never set up a specific Star Trek section in my house, it's mostly scattered here and there. However, I can tell you about some of the stuff I've picked up over the years! (I just grabbed stock photos to illustrate, I'm away from home today. Just open the spoiler tags to see them, I didn't want to clutter the comment.)

Ship Models:

I bought a few of the Eaglemoss ship models when they were readily available, as well as some of the BlueBrixx Lego clone models too. Both companies are no longer doing them, so the secondary market is soon going to be the only option. There are a couple of new companies that are coming out with new options though.

Action Figures:

I only have a few of these, but there are a good many available! They range from the little 4-5 inch ones clear up to incredibly detailed (and expensive!) 1:6 scale figures. Master Replicas has a new line coming out that's looking pretty good, and I think at least one other company is too.

Replica Props:

I haven't invested the money into the high quality replicas, but I have gotten a few 3D printed phasers to put on my shelves. They're usually not extremely expensive, (mine were 35-45 USD) and they look pretty good!

I also have a few old Star Trek game cartridges (which I still play!), a couple of signed photos, and other random books, magazines, posters, etc.

Eventually I would like to get a wooden model of the original Enterprise, something like this model of the E:

A very nicely detailed two foot long model like the TOMY 3 footer is also something I'm looking for too. Three feet is just a little too big for me!

I also would like a backlit LCARS panel of the Defiant schematic, but like all the rest, I'm slowly adding as it fits.

Just a warning though, don't buy things for the sake of filling in an area! Try to just find a few things you really like, and gradually fill in the gaps.

Thanks for all the recommendations! It gives me a lot to check out. The ship models are especially nice but really expensive on ebay. It's too bad they don't make them any more. Hopefully someone else starts making them.

Look at masterreplicas.com and fanhome.com, they're the two places I've seen making that type of ship model. Unfortunately they don't have a large selection yet, but over time I'm sure they'll fill in the line. Fanhome is primarily pushing their subscription though, so it might be harder to get some of the more popular ships without doing that.
