Rules

The rules for behavior are a straight carry over of Mastodon.World's rules. You can click the link but we've reposted them here in brief, as a guideline. We will continue to use the Mastodon.World rules as the master list. Over all, be nice to each other and remember this isn't a community built around debate. For the rules about formatting your posts, scroll down to number 2.

1. Follow the rules of Mastodon.world, which can be found here.

A. Provide an inclusive and supportive environment. This means if it isn't rulebreaking and we can't be supportive to them then we probably shouldn't engage.

B. No illegal content.

C. Use content warnings where appropriate. This means mark your submissions NSFW if need be.

D. No uncivil behavior. This includes, but is not limited to: Name Calling; Bullying; Trolling; Disruptive Commenting; or Personal Criticisms.

E. No Harrassment. As an example in relation to Transgender people this includes, deadnaming, misgendering, and promotion of conversion therapy. Similarly Misogyny, Misandry, and Racism are also banned here.

2. Include a community or instance title and description in your post title. - A following example of this would be New Communities - A place to post new communities or instances all over Lemmy for discovery and promotion.

3. Follow the formatting. - The formatting as included below is important for people getting universal links across Lemmy as easily as possible.

Formatting

Please include this following format in your post:

[link text](/c/community@instance.com)

This provides a link that should work across instances, but in some cases it won't

You should also include either:

!community@instance.com

or instance.com/c/community

FAQ:

Q: Why do I get a 404?

A: At least one user in an instance needs to search for a community before it gets fetched. Searching for the community will bring it into the instance and it will fetch a few of the most recent posts without comments. If a user is subscribed to a community, then all of the future posts and interactions are now in-sync.

Q: When I try to create a post, the circle just spins forever. Why is that?

A: This is a current known issue with large communities. Sometimes it does get posted, but just continues spinning, but sometimes it doesn't get posted and continues spinning. If it doesn't actually get posted, the best thing to do is try later. However, only some people seem to be having this problem at the moment.

!modabuse_powertrip@lemmybefree.net (new instance, I hope it'll stay faithful to what it states)

Made this community after a few disagreements with the mod/admin policies on !yepowertrippinbastards@lemmy.dbzer0.com

And !modabuse@lemmy.sdf.org seems mostly trolls

the only way to get into whatever version of heaven you believe in is to kill as many nazis and zionists as you can. fuck ICE, fuck trump, and fuck the liberals that put him into power. proud member of the db0 grassroots left wing qanon Russian troll farm sent to divide you all.

Guy acts tough and badass, is actually a lifeless moron with skin thinner than paper. Tale as old as the web.

It's the bio for cryptagion's profile.

I'm not the mod. He was temp banned by somebody else, for being a dick and excusing slurs against neurodivergent people. I just called it before it happened because I've seen plenty of other ableist dicks get banned for it.

[–] ipitco@lemmybefree.net -1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yea, like… me for saying the ban was stupid?

This is getting ridiculous now

Good thing I made the community heh

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

you said a temp ban for ableist slurs on an instance run by neurodivergents was "fucking stupid", when the OP refused to edit their post to remove the slurs. what did you think was gonna happen? you got a temp ban yourself, it's hardly the end of the world.

[–] ipitco@lemmybefree.net 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

when the OP refused to edit their post to remove the slurs

They claim they haven’t received the opportunity to

what did you think was gonna happen?

A discussion to get their logic and side of the story?

Nah, banning is better. This way people will learn and change for sure, definitely won’t grow to hate db0 more and more..

There wasn’t even any slur, like come on, at least try making valid reasons. Anyone with a little good faith can understand what was meant by the message and that it wasn’t made to make fun of mental disorders

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

if people hate us because they can't act like that on our instance without getting a ban, then that's really their problem, not ours. nobody needs to be federated with us if they think we're too sensitive or woke. that's the beauty of fedi, if you don't like our space, you can go make your own. like you did.

but don't expect us to cater to your whims. you don't pay the bills to keep our instance running. you don't even live there. you don't get a say in how we curate our instance.

[–] ipitco@lemmybefree.net -1 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Turned out from "we’re right" to "if you don’t like it, leave"

I have switched instances over some time and frankly I kind of have enough of it. At some point I’m thinking about making my own instance because I have enough of it all. We will see

but don't expect us to cater to your whims. you don't pay the bills to keep our instance running. you don't even live there. you don't get a say in how we curate our instance.

Being open to discussion shouldn’t be a luxury

Turned out from "we’re right" to "if you don’t like it, leave"

No, it was always we're right AND you can leave if you don't like it.

Being open to discussion shouldn’t be a luxury

We're not liberals, we're not willing to compromise on our morality just to keep you around.

anarchism but let's not have democracy and be open to discussion, huray

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com -2 points 17 hours ago (1 children)
[–] ipitco@lemmybefree.net 1 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

obviously not meant as a government but as a group

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

it's the same thing. anarchism doesn't need or want democracy, and the very idea of "the rule of the people" goes against our objection to being ruled at all.

besides, you're not even a part of our instance, why would your vote on anything matter? and why do you think our very large base of neurodivergent members would be sympathetic to your beliefs?

[–] ipitco@lemmybefree.net 1 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago) (1 children)

our very large base of neurodivergent members

source on this?

and I don't want to be accepted, just to discuss, but I see there's no point in that

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 16 hours ago

source on this?

all of our admins are neurodivergent, and most of our mods. the instance is also advertised as being tailored towards neurodivergent people. If you want a source, talk to the members. Drop by the ADHD comm or hop on Matrix, we're very active on our channels.

and I don’t want to be accepted, just to discuss, but I see there’s no point in that

no, absolutely not. we're not interested in discussing our policy against bigotry. if you try, you'll probably just get blocked by our members until a mod or admin comes around and cleans up your comments. the great thing about fedi is that nobody is forced to associate with anyone else. we all have the freedom to just cut problematic people out of our circles and move on. and the best part? that person we disassociated with is free to move on and start their own groups, with whatever agenda they want.

that's true freedom.

It’s funny that the person, who is really upset about a poorly chosen word and someone getting offended by it, defends Luigi Mangione, a killer

You really see the contrast. Cherry pick your defending cause and axis. A bit incoherent

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 0 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Wait you don't defend Luigi? What piece of shit are you.

[–] ipitco@lemmybefree.net -1 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Yea you're right, defending someone who murdered a rich guy. How brave

you're the piece of shit if you believe everyone should support his action

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 1 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

A rich guy responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths through policy and leadership.

[–] ipitco@lemmybefree.net -1 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

that's basically the entire economy in a nutshell

Not a lot of people would stay alive

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 1 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Oh yeah because everyone is upper management and responsible for the direction the company goes.

[–] ipitco@lemmybefree.net -1 points 17 hours ago

you'll also learn that you either play the capitalist game, or you lose

There's an infinite amount of people that could take their place

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 1 day ago

that hurts my heart. good to know I live rent free in your heads tho.

In part as well. There are many things that have built up over time, this whole post made me realize I had enough
