[Seattle Times] 15 years after moving Sonics, now it’s the Thunder asking for publicly funded arena

Game analysis, highlights and everything else that is happening in the NBA.
How fun would it be to have a city owned team? Residents get to vote on a team owner and GM? All profits from the team get sent back to the city? All the players and team staff are technically city employees.
It’s not owned by the city per se, but the Green Bay Packers are like this. I’m a shareholder and we vote on the board who appoints the president who then acts as our owner in meetings and stuff. They can never move and if they’re disbanded all assets go to charity.
This form of ownership was banned by the NFL, but the Packers are grandfathered in.
they banned it? what a bunch of scumbags
