I know nothing about watches. Nothing. I have an Apple Watch but am interested in picking up something that I can wear in professional settings. I work in tech sales. Rolex’s are common in my industry but they scream douchebag to me. I want something that is well made and that will last. I don’t know watch brands but I’m hoping for something that is nice, will compliment a tailored suit or a blazer OR a black tshirt. And I want a brand that doesn’t scream that I’m trying too hard. TIA.

Junghans Max Bill for exactly 500 USD. It’s a classic, design from the Bauhaus-student Max Bill (hence the name) and perfect for both work, dress watch and day-to-day.

Where are you finding Max Bills for 500$? The cheapest I've ever seen any of the models was $700 USD before tax and shipping...

Sorry for answering only now. In Europe you will pay 600 USD for the cheapest Max Bill, with some sale you can go down to 500 USD easily. You can get the model of 41/4064.04 - which is 38mm - for 470 EUR (which should be roundabout 500 USD) for example on this website:

Edit because of typos

Maybe a quartz model? I did see an automatic one in the 7-800 range that was pretty enticing. I do like this watch a lot.

Shopworn had them for 450 last Nov/Dec.BNIB.I bought one,but it just felt a bit small.Kinda light with the hardlex. They still show up there once or twice a year.

There are multiple sizes tho. The hand wound is only 34mm, while the automatic and quartz versions are 38mm. That's also probably why you can get the 34mm for ~500$ easily, while the other ones are more expensive.
