diesel guzzling? I thought battletech mechs used fusion reactors, unless they changed that at some point?
Yes, most mechs have fusion reactors, but there are certain types of mechs (generally called "primitive") which may use internal-combustion engines.
I mean they are in the setting but rarely used. Unless going by the start of the blackout age not ever really mentioned
