Apologies if this sounds silly but i was wondering if openshot or shotcut are good video editors especially for someone starting out on video editing for the first time, the type of videos i might plan on making is either general gaming videos or YTPs (hopefully y'all know what that is).

I have also considered kdenlive and davinci resolve aswell (i will not discuss davinci since that ain't open source).

Out of curiosity, i was also wondering y'alls thoughts on shotcut or openshot (and probably kdenlive).

I'll be waiting for responses, Thanks!

I am a Kdenlive lover. It works great. Has plenty of options and even a "community store" of effects, render configs, etc, but for your case you won't even need to go that far.

A community store..? I didn't know something like that existed for kdenlive, i kind of want to check it out just out of curiosity.
