BTF-Lighting is a quality brand (available on Amazon) that sells led strips in 5M segments for about $15-$20 per 5 meter segment. So $40 for 2x5m to get 10m. Then a zigbee led controller is also $30 on Amazon. Add $15 for a power adapter and you're at $85 for components. That leaves $35 which is more than enough for any misc connectors/sheath/cable extensions.
I'm not familiar with the silicon sheath you mention. For re-using, it's usually easier to just buy some new led strips and leave the old strips in place, unused.
Thanks these seem great ordered them on a discount too. Do you know if their own zigbee controllers are any good? They are not that expensive and idk they are from the same brand so maybe its atleast tested for proper color reproduction
I bought the zigbee controller from aliexpress (btf just resells them) and works perfectly with z2m and home assistant.
I have also tplink controllers and zigbee ones are working better than the tplink WiFi ones.
