I don’t pay attention to it but I was told it’s because he never abandons a stance even when presented with evidence that disproves it

Are the claims of receiving death threats verified with evidence?

Nowadays that's the easiest Get Out of Jail Free card to manufacture. Just claim you're receiving death threats and you're suddenly the victim, regardless of if it actually happened or not.
