The price is insane, they might as well discontinue it before launch

It's funny because they add a bunch of stuff to try and justify the huge cost increase, but realistically I don't want any of the new stuff they are trying to add.

Hopefully these sell terribly and will be at least half price after the holidays, then it makes sense.

Why though?

That price is stupid too.

AI this, AI that. It's going to run AI features in google cloud. Which could be one the reasons for the high price.

Why are people downvoting this? Upvote it as thanks for posting it and then go and buy yourself an SBC or an Android box from AliExpress.

So many buzz words! Holy cow.

Never buy an "Android box" from AliExpress / China

[–] sabreW4K3@lazysoci.al 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I've never seen a bad word said about MeCool boxes.

Isn't there an alarmingly high rate of android boxes on AliExpress with malware on them.

I swear I read something about half a year ago where every single box the journalist bought (of like 10 different models) had the same malware on it

Yeah, there's literally only one brand I would trust

as someone who doesn't have netflix i HATE the hardwired buttons. >_<

Apparently the chip it's like firestick from 2021, so they probably overclocked it and added some more ram.
