I agree. If we don’t study the weather, there is no weather. And hell, do you know how much we’d save in sharpies that redirect weather?
Hurricane Helene continues to unleash its fury across the Southeast after leaving 49 people dead in multiple states, leveling communities and stranding many in floodwaters after the historic storm made landfall in Florida’s Big Bend region Thursday night as a monstrous Category 4 hurricane with roaring 140 mph winds.
It's stupid, agreed.
But it's not like any major changes are made because of the data we collect on the oceans or the weather, so it feels irrelevant. We still dump tons of garbage in the ocean every day, are still grossly overfishing, and it's a 'historic' hurricane season every year.
