Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

After seeing a bunch of posts about Android_Translation_layer, I decided to try it out but I'm have issues installing it. Has anyone gotten it working in Linux Mint? (lemmy.ml)

I'm using the Cinnamon edition of Linux Mint 22 (Wilma) and I've installed all of the dependencies listed on the build documention but when I try running meson setup builddir in the android_translation_layer folder, it gives me this error:

ERROR: C shared or static library 'art' not found

Assuming that the "art" that it needs is "art_standalone", I've already installed that and it seemed to install just fine but for some reason meson still can't find it. Assuming that it can work in Linux Mint, what should I try next?

Just install the NewPipe flatpak and replace the apk with whatever.

I was able to find it's apk but none of the apks I replaced it with worked. So either the apps I have don't work in ATL or there is some issue specifically with NewPipe's flatpak.

Ok, I have NewPipe installed and it's working but I don't where it's apk is located or how to replace it.
