We ever gonna fund an actual housing solution or just keep kicking the can down the road?

It's not even really kicking the can down the road, it's more like kicking the can down the road and making it bigger, with more cans.

I think it’s time to dismantle Vancouver then.

So the solution here is to even further impoverish and brutalize those too poor to afford to get off the street?

What could that possibly hope to accomplish?

At some point we need to start treating our elected officials as the undiagnosed sociopaths that they are.

At some point we need to start treating our elected officials as the undiagnosed sociopaths that they are.

They are but merely representatives to the electorate. If they are acting in a sociopathic manner, it is because the population at large has instructed them to behave in that way. Which is not terribly surprising as large groups tend to lose empathy towards individuals. The shortcoming of democracy.

But not all hope is lost. If the population is willing to recognize its deficiencies in the way it treats those who are struggling, it can strive to be better. A large group does not have to be unempathetic, even if that is the natural state.
