Merely wearing a watch that is not a smart watch tells me that you are into watches to a certain extent. I have seen people be passionate about any type or price range.

Think, NTH, Scurfa, Aevig, Helm, etc... those are brands that get absolutely Zero mainstream advertising, so there is a very good chance they are a watch nerd.

Pretty much anything that isn't a smartwatch, a G-shock, or a basic Timex. That's what I see on 90% of wrists of people who are actually wearing a watch.
Or on a wealthier person, anything that's not a Rolex or Omega Seamaster.
