If a person wears a high end mechanical one day then a casio f91w another there is a high probability he/she has the big.

Anything with a moonphase or open-heart design.

Merely wearing a watch that is not a smart watch tells me that you are into watches to a certain extent. I have seen people be passionate about any type or price range.

I’ve had my Hamilton khaki field for about 2 years and on 4 occasions other watch guys noticed it and started up a conversation about watches

Journe. I don’t like them but when I see someone wearing one it’s a pretty good signal that they are avid collectors.

Any A. Lange & Son watch, scratch that not watch, timepiece

Those are serious timepieces and aren't for people who are not into watches

Oris, Nomos, Grand Seiko…

A Ball, or a Breitling would remove all doubt.

I would have to say anyone I see wearing a Micro Brand.

Think, NTH, Scurfa, Aevig, Helm, etc... those are brands that get absolutely Zero mainstream advertising, so there is a very good chance they are a watch nerd.

Vostok....although super cheap, it's one of those IYKYK watches.

Glaschutte Original, is also a good indicator you're a watch guy.

Anything custom made or modded.

[–] pipasnipa@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Hamilton, Marathon, Doxa, Sinn, Nomos, to name a few.

[–] witch-finder@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Pretty much anything that isn't a smartwatch, a G-shock, or a basic Timex. That's what I see on 90% of wrists of people who are actually wearing a watch.

Or on a wealthier person, anything that's not a Rolex or Omega Seamaster.
