In a just world, stadiums in all major league sports would be 100% funded by the billionaire owners. Unfortunately we get this shit.
NBA - Main
Game analysis, highlights and everything else that is happening in the NBA.
Fuck them. Take them!
I wore my Save Our Sonics homemade t. You're telling me all that was for nothing?
Fuck the thunder and Howard shultz
This always blows my mind. The taxpayers foot the bill for this thing and then can't afford to go to the actual games and use the facility.
Remind us why taxpayer dollars need to be used to build stadiums/arenas and not the BILLIONAIRES that own these teams???
Fund education, ease homelessness, and plan for our water future? No, let's go in hundreds of millions on a tax payer funded basketball court that will certainly run over budget and push that crumbling infrastructure can down the road for later generations to deal with.
Back to Seattle ???????😂🤣😂🤣😂
From The Oklahoman:
Thunder ownership, led by chairman Clay Bennett, will contribute $50 million toward a new arena in downtown Oklahoma City that will cost a minimum of $900 million, pending passage of a plan Mayor David Holt announced Tuesday.
So, it terms everyone can understand, imagine building a $900,000 home, but only having to commit $50,000 of your own money (with taxpayers picking up the rest) that would guarantee the right to use the house for the next 25 years. You would still need to pay yearly rent but it would be a fraction of the costs associated with building. Let's say the Thunder end up paying $8 million in rent each season (somewhat realistic given the Sacramento Kings pay $6.5). Using the same example with relevant numbers, your rent would be $8,000 a year.
We can't even get Healthcare but somehow we have money to supplement stadiums owned by billionaires. Oh America your priorities are out of wack.
