Yes sir - an old school Sentinel.

Man, there are alot of beaters in your collection. As I like to say, I'd rather have a Mercedes S class, a porsche and a McClaren than 20 Hondas, Nissans, toyotas and Peugeot. Lol

[–] NeverAppropriate@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Some of us really like the Toyotas and Hondas.

[–] SpecialistGap9223@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Don't get me wrong, always good to have a reliable beater. But wouldn't it be nice to cruise a Porsche or McClaren with wifey/SO up the coast? Those turns on a camry isn't as fun. Lol

Less of a roast and more of a recommendation: downsize the collection but keep the investment the same. You’ll get more enjoyment from owning half this many watches that you regularly actually wear and having them be much nicer, than having this many and not being able to give them proper wrist time.

[–] NeverAppropriate@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Fair recommendation. I have often thought I should downsize and step up and actually thought I naututally would eventually. I just haven’t been able to drop the “fun” of having a varied inexpensive collection full of Casio and microbrands.

That being said, there are a few higher quality watches I have been eying lately and I have started to toy with the idea of a 3 or 5 watch collection.

“Quantity over quality”

[–] NeverAppropriate@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, I can’t seem to get out of the microbrand “fun” purchases.

[–] wilderness_essays@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

My comment was boring so thanks for giving it your time. You actually probably hit on the serious issue here: go in low like this, and when you go to pivot (ie “get out”), you do so for pennies on the dollar. Go in high and decide to pivot, you can sell near cost—and maybe unlock interesting new connections (or even trades) along the way.

Plus, no way all these get wrist time. Many will advise that even 12 is too many.

What’s in the top left corner? Looks like one of the newer Breitlings but it doesn’t look like a Breitling logo.

[–] NeverAppropriate@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Top left is the Hamilton Pilot Day Date - also known as the “Cooper” or “Interstellar.”

Top right is a Sugess Chrono - which is a direct homage to a Breitling Top Time Deus.

[–] maybach320@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Thank you and I have no idea why I said top left instead of right but thanks for catching my error and thanks for the info.

You really didn’t get the memo about quality over quantity, huh?

[–] lambent_ort@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Very nice. You need something from Tokyo Flash!

[–] hotcoolhot@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Keep the mechanical in one box and keep quartz in another. If you keep them is same box bad things happen :)

The Laco and Baltic are stunners. No roast from me

[–] Smiths_fan137@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Gonna be straightforward: I wouldn't have a single watch in that collection

[–] mjm6202@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Nice spread! I think it's solid!

[–] Claim_Simple@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Sell some, save some money. And stop going back to your neighbourhood mall.

[–] bourbonpharmd@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Favorite piece in the collection for me is your Baltic. Any dial variation looks good but think salmon is my favorite. Also, what is that omega CK 859 look alike piece? Never seen it before or that brand…

[–] bwhomebrew@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What are your feelings on the Bulova Lunar Pilot and the Sugess?

[–] raclee40@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I must be missing something because to me this collection looks just fine. Not everyone can afford to buy a dozen Rolex watches or Audemars Piguet, etc. with minute repeaters. Collect for fun.

[–] NeverAppropriate@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

But I get the sense it’s pointless to collect unless you CAN buy a dozen Rolexes and/or AP. 😂

[–] simioh@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I don't see any roasting material, very nice collection, I see many I would want to add to mine at some point like the Bulova, Hamilton, and Phoibos.

Get a damn Tissot PRX 🔥

[–] NeverAppropriate@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I do like the look of the PRX!

[–] Selkior01@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I like the PRX and have one, but before getting that, check out the Direnzo DRZ 04 Mondial.

[–] MochingPet@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I vant the wan with the Big Arabic numrals (Phoibos) And the Laco, of course!
