Both have a reputation of being great offensive players, but bad defenders. Amare was the main reason the suns always had an average to below average defense, poor rebounder, poor post defense, poor defensive IQ. KAT is somewhat undersized as well, not a proficient rim protector, doesn’t rly get many blocks, not the best defensive IQ either. But he is a good rebounder and stronger lower body than Amare.

Amar'e "I've never been taught defense in my whole career." Stoudemire.

The Amare Bargnani front court was the worst defensive front court ive ever seen

Bargnani was probably our best defensive center that year too. Chandler was worse than checked out between conflict with Woodson, injury, and family stuff.

amar’e

kat is usually late on rotations, amar’e on the other hand was lost a lot

IMO, Amare was a more physically gifted defender. KAT is a more intelligent defender. They are both more concerned about saving their energy for offense.

Stoudemire was incredibly bad. Like did not understand any team defensive concepts and since then has said d'antoni didn't practice any defensive schemes with the team at all. He had athleticism and could've been great if he came up under a different coach.
