Home automation is the residential extension of building automation.

It is automation of the home, housework or household activity.

Home automation may include centralized control of lighting, HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), appliances, security locks of gates and doors and other systems, to provide improved convenience, comfort, energy efficiency and security.

I'mv disassembling tradfri drivers just to use the wireless PCB directly wired to the 12v auxiliary battery of my van and control led lights.

Till now, I have been buying 30w version as the power required was 21w ( much higher than 10w)

For my next project I'm requiring 14w, so I have two doubts in mind considering the big price difference between 10 and 30w drivers:

Are the PCBs of both versions diffent or just the PSU is the rating limitation ?

If they are, would the 10w version handle 14w any way as normally there is some margin?

Thanks!

It's probably just the PSU. But you should look at the PCB in each to be sure.
