What's the context here? I don't recognize anyone or anything.
This gives better context than I ever could (first clip is from DS9, second is from Picard S1)
I haven't gotten around to Picard just yet, so even with the additional context, I'm so confused. Why would you need to chew it!? It looks like the sort of thing that would stop working when chewed.
