the whole idea was to trigger the libs with a vague gesture, like that one bitch who turned it into an awkward wave, but he got a little too into it and now people are setting his cars on fire.

I think it's more that he got a bit too excited about the way the far right can get away with absolutely anything. The media will make excuses for you, the fan base will love it, the more outrageous it is the more it makes libs cry. The democrats will impotently voice objections, the Overton window will move as required, and you will have gotten away with it. I think he wanted to be the star of that whole circus.
He wants to show power. Like he can do as he pleases and have anything he does not approve of removed.
Is there confirmation that he actually specifically wanted that image off reddit? Or is this just someone making assumptions after the recent story about him interfering with moderation at reddit?
