One of my favorite episodes

I just happened to rewatch that one with my kid. It's a Randy episode so great as he is the one character who can out-Cartman Cartman--condemning earth to galactic banishment is far more damaging than anything Eric did. And a twist ending no one expected.

But not a great episode--it's just too one dimensional.

I still can’t believe Stan didn’t only use materials from the official pinewood derby kit.

It gave me one of the hardest laughs in the series when the news reporter says they achieved warp drive (or whatever) using only the contents of this pinewood derby kit (holds up the plastic bag with the wooden pieces in it).

Wasn’t this the episode where we see aliens telling themselves (aka with no one else around) that something seemed off about Earth but later it turns out they knew Earth was faking all along? Because that was some bullshit

Didn’t like it when it came out originally in hindsight’s it’s one of my favorites

[–] FlimsyKnuckle@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I don’t think they’ve had aliens featured in an episode since.

When that car flies off the track, it's SP at its absolute finest.

[–] The_Scyther1@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Space cash wasn’t the best ending but overall I really enjoy the episode.

It’s a classic

It's a confusing episode because it tries to have a moral of "don't lie" which is usually reserved for children's programming. It doesn't really feel patronizing because I don't get the impression that Matt Stone and Trey Parker give a shit whether I tell lies, but it makes the whole thing feel like it's lacking some direction. Feels like they wanted to make an episode about the Pinewood Derby but couldn't figure out what kind of story to tell. Stealing some kind of government device and achieving warp speed with a pinewood derby car is a hilarious setup, but it really meanders from there, especially when you know the ending already.

I think, that Leia Organa is nice geomorthologist and singer, but what she does on farm got out of hand.

My favourite

Not bad, just super duper forgettable

[–] TollyVonTheDruth@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It was funny... actually, hilarious; like how Randy continued to double-down even when he knew he was caught in all of his lies and even though his face was caught on camera stealing the superconducting magnet from the Large Hadron Collider, no one could identify him (other than Stan) because he dressed like Princess Leia.

love it. i was just discussing this with a friend. a perfect example of using many forms of comedy in an episode.

a sign that South Park understands its audience.

A strong contender for the worst episode of the series
