I am watching videos about watches for years now. Until now I had never the money to start this project like I want it to start. A few years ago my girl got me a Swatch Sistem51 for my birthday. I really like this watch and I wear it quite often, but now I want a real start. I saved some money over the last 2 years. So how to start? I got approximately 6000€ to spend. Should I spend everything for just one watch or should I start with one watch and keep some money for the next buy?

My first idea is a Speedmaster Reduced. I think the smaller Speedy would fit me perfect.

I would love to buy a gold watch to match my Goldring.

I like vintage watches.

What are your thoughts?

People are different and have different opinions in collecting. A watch you like now you may not like a year from now.

Best advice I can tell you is to try on a bunch of watches until you find one that you can't stop thinking about. Then wait 3+ months. Go try it on again and if you still feel the same a month later, get it.

Also if you're buying vintage, wait until next year. Prices are continuing to drop.

Highly recommend a speedmaster reduced , especially the second version ref 35395000

Actually my favourite Watch in my collection

I would advise you to buy a few cheaper watches at first to see what you like and don’t like. If you make good choices, most watches can easily be resold on r/watchexchange for 75% of what you originally paid.

Firstly I want to thank you all for your feedback. I made a decision and bought a Speedmaster Reduced for a fair price, I think. So I got some savings for my next purchase. As I bought a everyday watch, next should be something dressy. I’m looking for a nice Cartier Tank. But I will take some time. Maybe another watch will cross my path of beginning the collection. I got an eye on some other watches. With some time I should be more confident.

Thank you guys!
