My 70yr old parents own an F150 and a ridiculous fifth wheel. So lots of gasoline. I love it for them and I guess thats my inheritance one day as they sold their SF Bay Area home in 2017. They also go on fancy Viking cruises every 18mos or so.

Most boomers I know are constantly wasting their money on buying brand new vehicles every couple of years.

[–] BigSilent@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Maintenance.

Do maintenance, get boomer $ everyday.

[–] rubey419@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Travel. Especially those river cruises seems to be a big hit with retired boomers.

What do you want to enjoy in your golden years? Travel, entertainment, etc.

I work in an art gallery and they buy a lot of art and the women sign up for a ton of expensive art classes.

My parents are retired and traveling around the world, basically. The house is paid. They’ve got amazing health insurance. So basically, food, utilities, and travel is all they spend money on.

Digital advertising consultants - because no one over 30 can hit this f'ing moving target. Got 18 year olds now mastering the digital arts, making more in a year than their parents/grandparents did over an entire career.

Houses. My parents and my parents’ friends have all recently bought new houses in cash.

Care homes. You can make a mint opening hospice or long-term care facilities. Takes a lot of red tape and capital though. Worthless jewelry from daytime television. This requires a television network and very low sense of morality.

My mom UPSIZED her damn retirement home. THREE STORIES. FOUR BEDROOMS. I don’t know if that is a typical boomer? But she’ll definitely be spending money on handy people and house maintenance needs.

Inkjet printers and ink. I went to help an older family member with something that required me to click a link in her email. I asked, is it okay if I open the email? She said, yes, but also that she had printed the email in case I needed it.

They also know the printers are junk. So maybe something about all of that will be helpful to you.

Just sell Medicare,

It costs them nothing if they qualify. And they have to have it.

I assumed the internet put TV channels like the Home Shopping Network out of business, but I'm constantly reminded that my parents keep them afloat.
