10-12K started my interior design business two months ago, no office yet so little overhead. All business has been word of mouth and referrals, no website yet.

No clue! ( how sad is that?)
I have a meeting with a CPA in two weeks to finally figure it out. Probably about $30k/mo.
$860,000
Honest answer: -$7,346. But that’s mostly due to being a seasonal business.
$1 mil per month.
I'm in Telecoms.
Currently doing somewhere in the vicinity of -$50k/month, vs about ~+$130k/month in mid-2022.
The stark difference is due to a combination of factors:
-
A deal that went wrong (sold customers to a competitor, and they're forcing us to litigate because they violated the terms of the sale contract).
-
A pivot away from an in-demand but highly problematic service (when it works, it's great and profitable... when it breaks, it's catastrophic and causes massive headaches, and we suffered some reputational blows).
-
Expanding the other parts of the business (which costs money while we bring them to the point of sustainability).
-
We have built an entirely new CRM/BMS/POS platform for ourselves and our customers - our old one was showing its age and limitations pretty badly. It created a small amount of conflict because the old system belongs to the partner, and he still thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread (I - and our customers - disagree).
We've been slowly migrating customers to the new platform, and there are plans to license it out as an all-in-one solution for telecom resellers and retailers.
The only problem is project creep - it started out as an incredibly small thing, basically to track activations of SIM cards, but its grown substantially to cover just about every product & service we have available, and we're thinking of new features to add pretty much every other day.
-
We took on our first debt ever, with good intentions, but I quickly realized it was a mistake and put a hold on what we needed the debt for because I couldn't see a clear path to profitability for those particular endeavours.
-
My business partner has a little bit "given up", and sometimes getting him to do what is needed is a challenge - sometimes it feels like he'll do anything but - I'm actively seeking new partner(s) to buy him out.
-
The new system requires far less babysitting - so we found we were becoming a bit overstaffed. Unfortunately we did wind up terminating the employees who had the most complaints from customers for not doing their jobs, which was definitely my least favourite part about owning a business.
Am I worried? Of course - even the idea of spending more than I make horrifies me. But I built this thing from scratch before, and I could do it again if I had to.
Being a bit older also gives me some credibility in the field, which is helpful, and I'm pretty confident the new systems and getting rid of shit that wasn't reliable will help us (me) win out in the end.
Acquisition for a moving company, working around 8 hours a week bringing in net profit 2.5-3k a month for my salescompany.
I take home $750 a month from my business.
Net profit is roughly 25% at 164K annually, which took me 5 years to get to. I am sole proprietor
I absolutely love reading these! Net profit is around 10-11k a month. Working 50 hours a week, I’m a licensed electrician installing solar!
I’ve had my business for 19 years - I’ve never been interested to show any profit. I spend all the money via the business. If there is profit I did not spend money wisely and well enough.
Around 6k€ per month as a home caterer in France. Seems small compared to the other answers but I’m happy with it at 23yo 😂
Well, after reading all these comments as a freshman student all i can say is:
Anyone need an assistant?

Anywhere between 40-55k a month depending on the month.
I'm a Fractional CFO serving a specific niche. I also coach accountants and bookkeepers how to do the same work.
There's plenty of people crushing it online, I've seen so many companies who I'm surprised are making as much as they are. You can earn a nice living doing almost anything if you structure it right.
Yeah I have lambo money. My recent toy vehicle cost as much as a lambo but with a bigger engine even though it goes a lot slower....... (might be in post history :)
All kinds of businesses lots of tech-ish but some more physical, focused on passive income. Today building a phone company as I spend over a grand a month and think I can convert a cost center into a profit center

I recently started about 2-3 months ago currently in my Freshman year of college. Profit is roughly 4,000 monthly which I hope to scale up. I have a cheap cleaning service for the white Sorority/Fraternity houses as-well as any apartment that needs it. A bit of reselling on the side that adds up to the total of 4,000.
Uhm Today Wife pay my lunch ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
