Swapping back and forth all of the time is getting to be a monotonous. I would like to sell one and keep the other. In the beginning I was very partial to the explorer but sometimes I can’t imagine not having the date function. Plus the DJ does sit a larger on the wrist and that is also nice. Tough choice here to just walk away with one…So help me decide because I am really at an impasse with this..

For me it’s right and it’s not particularly close.

Just looks clean AF

To the left…..

The explorer is a bit more sporty, and the datejust is a bit more dressy. I guess it just depends on your personal style. Are you more of a jeans and a t-shirt guy or a collared shirt and khakis guy? Personally I would have more occasions to wear the explorer, even though I prefer the looks of the datejust.

Bro I'll be honest these two look almost identical lmao

I'd go with the datejust for some just that little extra added bit of utility but if price is a consideration just get whichever is cheaper

I'm leaning Explorer because I Iike dates but hate date magnifiers.

[–] GMT2andEHTBP@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I’d keep the explorer between those two

Hands down the DJ. Logo at 12, cyclops and bracelet are all unique Rolex brand cues that don’t date the watch but enhance it as a ‘timeless’ design. By contrast, the ‘Modern’ Rolex Explorer is the total opposite. Probably the dullest and most generic looking watch by any manufacturer. Those numerals simply scream ‘welcome to 1990’. Even Mercedes hands can’t save it.

I'm a no date guy for the most part. I just tend to wear them more often.

[–] MrPerfume@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

avoid cyclopes at all cost… too ugly

[–] dwitchagi@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Torn on this one. I don’t love the numerals on the explorer, but I do like the no-date. Gun to the head: DJ.

I’m not a fan of the explorer personally and I also think if you’re getting a DJ you should get the fluted bezel.

So I’m clearly not the person to ask but I’d still go DJ

[–] WiseguyPokerClub@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Datejust. The explorer is nice. I don't know. Get both. Fuck it.

[–] sproosemoose85@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The DJ is just ever so slightly cleaner looking to me. I’d pick it every time.

Not really a wrong answer here.

[–] hubbubi@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Dj looks slightly better

I really like the Explorer but I'm a bit lost without the date because I am dense.

[–] iggy34@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

left. can't stand the cyclops

[–] LockMyWorld@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Explorer 10/10

[–] decredd@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I have both too. I wear the Explorer more often, mostly because it's more under the radar. I also feel the DJ is now a tad too dressy sometimes with the way everything has gone so casual.

[–] CaptainPotassium87@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I would go with the explorer. I am not wild about 2-toned bands and I like the numbers on the dial.

Explorer always by the looks - poorly no date :( which is something i must have

[–] formerlyknownas-@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

left all day and twice on Sunday

[–] 3dsplinter@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago
[–] bigkids@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Right for me, I prefer having the date than the numbered time digits.

[–] RenaxTM@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If a watch has numbers on 3, 6 and 9 it needs a big 12 on top too. And the time of day is pretty useless to know if I don't know what day it is, I've got a meeting the 24th at 10 o'clock, no use showing up tomorrow at 10 for that.

I prefer the look of the explorer but I also cannot live with a date function so Datejust

[–] jmardoxie@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I like Explorer. Explorer and AirKing are two of my favorites. I’d get a Milgauss if they still made them.,

The Explorer is the only Rolex I like

[–] StreetVillage9755@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Right hands-down.
