He looks like an absolute badass

They really chose the worst photo to make him look bad.

Fateh's higher education bill included tuition-free public colleges and universities and tribal colleges for students from families whose income is less than $80,000 a year.[18] It also included an increase to Hunger Free Campus grants,[19]emergency assistance grants.[20]

Fateh was the chief Senate author of a bill to provide minimum wages and worker protections for drivers for rideshare companies such as Uberand Lyft.

Damn, he’s a good lookin dude in your picture, he looks insane in OP’s post!

[–] halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world 47 points 1 week ago (1 children)

OP's post image is probably a still image from a video of him ripping someone a new one in committee.

[–] TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 34 points 1 week ago

In the age of HD video, it is remarkably easy to catch a single frame of someone looking ridiculous.

[–] Zirconium@lemmy.world 27 points 1 week ago (1 children)

35 years old. I'm glad we're having such young people hit the spotlight in politics (I say this as a young person myself)

Look who loves democracy until it works.

Someone needs to push back against this and say, "We want this! We asked for it, by name!" Like your lame ass party and the other lame ass party don't fucking do shit so we started looking for people that will do shit. Guess what, we found them. Grow up and accept that if you do unpopular things, you will become unpopular.

Republicans generally have not liked democracy since the 60s.

Many of the recent Republican Presidential candidates did not win the popular vote even when they got into office. Many Republican drawn maps are rigged / gerrymandered such as Texas and before that North Carolina. Republicans were lighting ballot boxes on fire in 2020 and 2024. A few Republicans tried to remove Term Limits for Trump. The only reason the Republicans have a house and senate majority is because the house is capped at 435 and the senate gives 2 seats to every state regardless of the fact that North Dakota has 800k population, Wyoming 590k, and California almost 40 Million.

Sometimes Republican voters will literally poll that Democracy doesn't work.

The MAGA movement is, at heart, a racist movement. So yeah. They're pretty racist.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 56 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Give MAGAts credit, they have a natural talent for grabbing bad photos of people they dont like.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 13 points 1 week ago

Having a triangle head does not have an impact on his suitability for governance or his policies.

[–] EtherWhack@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

I see it as a bit funny. Like, it's his reaction to her comment of stupidity

Politics aside, he looks like he wants to do experiments on anthropomorphic bandicoots.

[–] misterdoctor@lemmy.world 49 points 1 week ago

We need to leave racism in the past and move forward - together - as a nation that roasts people purely on how much they look like video game villains

I really don't like to poke fun at people's appearance. But also, yeah...

Only whites are native born to the North American continent.

[–] buttnugget@lemmy.world 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

As far as I know, white people were the only people ever to see North America or set foot on it in all of human history. Everyone else is a guest!

He was born in Washington DC! He's more American than 99% of Americans

[–] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago

And has 100% less representation!

[–] Burninator05@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

Washington DC isn't a state and you can't be been in the United STATES of America if you're not born in a state. - Kate (probably)

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 32 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Imagine looking at that list of policies and thinking "not on my watch"

[–] NoForwardslashS@sopuli.xyz 14 points 1 week ago

As a Trump loving landlord and minimum wage employer I would be OUTRAGED.

Kate_p45? Definitely AI trash starting a fight to blind people with emotion and make them hate each other instead of being rightly mad at the oligarchs perpetuating the system.

<Thinking...>

He is black he must be an immigrant

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

Black with a non-white, muslim-sounding name.

[–] Zink@programming.dev 17 points 1 week ago

Wow, yeah “Kate” you are onto something. There is something fishy going on here. He is… (reads about him for 10 seconds) very black indeed. Of course.

Fucking people.

Signed, white guy with way too many relatives who would agree with smiling racist lady.

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 15 points 1 week ago

And by "born" we mean white.

[–] SleepyBear@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

See this guy is a "problem" being a foreign born citizen running for public office. When we just finished up having a foreign born citizen fucking around in our federal government for 6 months in a position that was not voted for, or on. Ill give you 1 guess as to what the difference is between those two people I mentioned, and its the reason why both Fareh and Mamdani are under such scrutiny.

[–] Jyek@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He isn't a foreign born citizen at all. Born in D.C. He doesn't even have an accent. They saw his name and skin color and masked off their stupid.

She's definitely still mad about Obama's birth certificate.

[–] _stranger_@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago (3 children)

It would be very funny if they wrote a bill that limited citizenship to people born in "America"

In 10 years with 2% CPI increase each year, minimum wage will be worth the exact same as today if you rose it by $4 tomorrow.

The past few years it's been between 3-6%

[–] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 week ago

See, that's the thing.

CPI increases have always persisted. So minimum wage has now become so worthless that it's impossible to survive on it.

IMO, we should tie minimum wage increases to the inflation rate.

Inflation goes up 2%, so does minimum wage.

[–] youCanCallMeDragon@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago

Look at me, I am the mayor now

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No one objected to Arnold.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Hmm, I wonder what the difference is.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

We'll never know.

Does she really mean white people or people with Christian sounding names? Like, which flavor of racists does she really want to be?
