While his contract makes it so that the Wiz will not get anything of value for him, I firmly believe there are situations where he can still be a valuable contributor on a team for a long time, and even become a beloved player to a franchise (see Bobby Portis in MIL, Naz Reid MIN, Clarkson UTA, Monk SAC), he just needs the right situation. What teams could you see fulfilling that?

The Heat. He’s also gonna need a few punches to the face in private

He needs a mean coach, maybe Pop or Thibs.

[–] pantzking@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He'd be out of the rotation in a month under Thibs.

[–] H3J1e@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Having Pop coach Poole would be elder abuse.

Fort Wayne Mad Ants

Shanghai sharks

He’s too broken. He’s won too much, had too many big games already AND has a championship. If he wouldn’t listen to any of the champion veteran warriors players/staff criticism he’s not listening to anyone ever. Pop or Spoelstra aren’t changing this dude. He thinks he’s a future superstar and is gonna be James Harden but it’s not happening.

Shanghai Sharks respectfully declines the offer.

Our brother Guangdong Tiger can take him.

He’s absolutely perfect for the Washington Generals

[–] AssButtFartSon@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They’re due for a win!

If the assumption is he can’t cut it as a primary or secondary option, he could fit in with a team that has two clear cut options ahead of him, or a strong supporting cast, so most contenders.

But the fact that we’re comparing Pool to Bobby Portis, Naz Reid, Clarkson and Monk shows how far he has dropped this season.

Clarkson career arc is feeling like his ceiling right now

Orlando maybe? They need shooting and offense and have the defenders to protect him. He fits the timeline.

[–] santinerino@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That’s actually a pretty good idea

Literally the warriors, the internet gassed him up too much especially with the draymond situation since the nba fans hate draymond so wonder he plays and acts like the way he does.

guangdong southern tigers

Whatever team only lets instathots sit in the front row.

[–] HBOGOandRelax@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He's probably best as a 6th man since he's a bad defender. Would need a team that's already deep at guard and has good POA defenders. Celtics and OKC come to mind but I doubt they'd be interested. Keeping with the good defense theme, maybe a team that needs shooting and self creation at the guard spot. I think that makes the Magic the best fit

[–] wubiwuster@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Maybe going back to school to work on that IQ

[–] BruceBrownMVP@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Do y'all remember after GS won in 2022.

G League Ignite

[–] P_O_L_L_Y@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

He wants to be THE DUDE on whatever team he’s on and he’s not a first option. I don’t even think he’s a second options if I’m being honest.

He’s already saying in huddles that “this is my fucking team” and shit. Dawg Kuzma has been there for a few years now and you just show up and start losing and all of a sudden it’s your team? It’s Kuzmas team to tank thank you very much.

[–] kaiWarDun@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

probably shouldn't even be a third option either

[–] pantzking@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Lakers. They always seem to get the best out of malcontents and the unwanted.

.

Jordan Clarkson is doing ok in Utah

The sixers because a scorer/facilitator off the bench is what we need

Based on past examples of players with his lack of maturity, he won't be in the league after his contract.

[–] morcic@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He's 24, and he's already been a big contributor on a champion team. People act like he's 30. He'll mature with age, and with all that gained experience, he'll be a very disarable 6th man for years to come.

[–] ShamarDraco@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Willie green could save him

[–] larrylegend1990@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Team where baddies fill up the arena…

[–] Smellmyhand@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The warriors got the most of him. He’ll never get to those heights again

[–] Gfunkual@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

My rec league team could use a shooter. I guess I’d take him.

Only a team that could get him to completely re-evaluate his attitude and current approach to the game. You know, somehow get him to be a better teammate and stop playing basketball like a total dickhead.

Problem is, to him he's got that 'fuck you' money and doesn't really seem to care much about winning games anymore.

No one, I would say a bottom feeder team who just needs someone to score and maybe put some butts in seats but he looks like his attitude problem is too much for any one to wanna deal with

[–] HotspurJr@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Right now? Nobody.

He wants a green light to do whatever, to not play defense, to not play within himself or a system. There were signs of this before the Draymond punch, but he was scoring so well it didn't matter.

If playing with Steph Curry wasn't enough to get the guy to want to play with a modicum of discipline, nobody else is going to, either.

But if he gets an attitude transplant he could be a successful part of a good team again.

[–] superlazerX@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago
