The Memphis Grizzlies are currently selling tickets for as low as $2 per seat. They are averaging the 5th worst attendance in the league at 16, 833 which is worse than half of the Vancouver Grizzlies seasons almost 30 years ago when average attendance league wide was much lower than now.

Am I still petty that Memphis took our team? Absolutely.

But I can also guarantee you'd be hard pressed to find tickets to a Vancouver NBA game for the price of a quarter of a water at Rogers Arena. Not to mention I'm positive that Vancouver could do better than the 5th worst attendance in the league.

I look forward to seeing salty Memphis fans in my DMs, but just remember you would be frustrated too if a worse market stole you're NBA team, and then showed poor support to an actually talented team.

Sorry OP, Morant says no due to stricter gun regulations.

Holy overreaction…we’re just going to move the team after seeing attendance numbers for 6 games where over half of the roster is out injured (or suspended)?

[–] eXistentialMisan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

mmm yes I see Vancouverites have enough money after their mortgage for an NBA process ticket.

[–] micowywa@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That would be great. Also Move LA Clippers to Las Vegas and rename. Sacramento Kings to Seattle and Sonics are back.

who could have foreseen that bringing an NBA franchise to the 44th largest and 108th richest metropolitan area in the USA might not have been a good decision by the league

I support Grizzlies going home. They don’t belong in Memphis.

[–] wise_comment@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

$24 for lower level tickets to a wolves game?

What is this, 2012?

I....almost want to convince my wife to let me attend a Grizz game when we visit, if plane flights from MSP are reasonable. I won't cause I'm a coward with a car that needs replacing. But a boy can dream

Last I checked Vancouver only supports winning teams. Canuck’s sure had shit crowds when they were losing the last ten years. What’s gonna happen if they comeback? Team gonna suck and nobody shows up?!

Tickets will sell for $2 CAD if they move back to Vancouver, which equates to $1.46 USD

Seriously don’t move back there’s no market for the Grizzlies in Vancouver if they perform so poorly

[–] ProfessionalCow9265@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Memphis is literally one of the few cities I will go out of my way to drive around on a road trip. Peace.

[–] Hot_Ad9748@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

There’s a reason the grizzlies left. There’s culture and a city that fully backs its team.

Just because tickets are affordable doesn’t mean you should throw a hissy fit. I’d rather not have to sweat about going to a game then have to save up my hard earned cash and catch a game every blue moon. Having high ticket prices isn’t cool, it’s not flashy.

But yea have fun not having a team in your city, cry me a fucking river.

[–] topkingdededemain@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I think the fix isn’t even to put them back in Canada. It’s just to move them to nashville

They definitely need to move out of Memphis, but maybe just a little East to Nashville.

The canadian dollar is fickle. Its risky moving into a territory you know you’re going to be the number #2 ticket in town. Its whats happening right now with winnipeg and the cfl. Winnipeg isnt even bad and they’re having issues.

Like what is a Supersonic?

Is it a metaphor for some 70’s slang?

I imagine someone was on a Concord flight and that was their high point of their career

[–] MantisToboggan1_@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Fuck me $5 to see the Don that's crazy!

[–] FSZou@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I'm surprised that many people can afford $2 tickets in Memphis given what I saw of the city last year. Was definitely not the memphis I saw in 2015, unfortunately.

[–] imnotapotato140@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I just want another Canadian team. I can’t cheer for anything based in Toronto on principle

[–] Sangui@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

no.

I'm glad there's markets where the tickets are cheap as fuck and I can plan a vacation around going there to see basketball games for my team and it be less than it is to see them locally.

[–] hunterwolves18@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

People saying Memphis has no grizzly, Toronto show me your raptors or Utah show me your jazz

[–] DunkingZBO@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Fuck off buddy

[–] OfficialDevinBooker@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Hick ass TN doesn’t need an nba team. Put that money and effort towards some social and educational programs they desperately need

Also, gotta understand that $2 is a lot of money in that region

[–] coffeecup9898@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Nah Roger the Grizzlies. Bring an mlb team to Van

[–] bjbigplayer@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Next thing you know the Braves are gonna move from Boston to Milwaukee

[–] sjbbang79@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I live in Australia, so those prices give me the belief that I can afford a few games when I’m in the US in a few days time!

Not sure about the nosebleed seats though, do the players look like ants?

[–] whodunit888@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

$2? Id be there every night. Nothing else to do in life that is that cheap anymore.

Tennessee is s booming market, the Grizzlies suck right now which is why attendance is low. Let's not forget how great the fans were during the grit and grind era. Stop being bitter, Canada already won an NBA championship within the last 5 years.

Sounds like Op has a point. But I just think Ja is a tool

[–] Leggoman31@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Minimum price for Raptors tickets is standing areas for $100 CAD + fees. Thats usually to see like Charlotte or something. Any good team is $200 easy. I wish I vould pay $4 for a ticket. Even our G-League team isnt that cheap
