If you want to work closer to home try Durres
Digital Nomads
Oooo that is tempting, maybe in the summer it would be nice - I want to run to the southern hemisphere for the summer haha. Chose SEA because i like the time one difference and would want to visit Australia while I’m out (as a holiday)
Why not Chad?
Africa is on my list as well, would love to travel around in a van or something similar :)
The key things you need to know are:
- Is your passport within date?
- Do you need a visa for where you intend to travel?
- Is your flight booked?
That's basically it.
Great! So simple, that’s reassuring!
A country a month would be way too fast for me. I like to spend two or three months in places. But I also spend a lot of time unemployed, during which I backpack, so I get to travel more quickly at other times.
You should technically have a work visa, but none of us do. Getting found out is very, very unlikely.
RE accommodation, you could look at accommodation specifically for DNs (so probably coliving). But also you can just message hosts and ask for speed test results (many put them on listings anyway).
I always like to have some sort of backup internet access. Redundancy on this is very important seeing as we need it to work. For me, this just means tethering to my phone (local SIM).
Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for! I wanted to do a sort of “taster” before I commit to travel full time. I think I will be just booking an one way ticket and play it by ear whilst I’m out there.
Are there any specific sites I could use to look up accommodation - shared with other DNs would be great as I want to socialise while I’m out.
As you said redundancy is key, I will definitely be looking into it - I will likely have to get an E-Sim while I’m out. Do you have any experience with these? Are they reliable for internet?
Thanks again, really appreciate the response:)
